As most of the other reviewers mention, you can't beat the location. Right in the center of everything, but the hotel is silent. I am at the hotel at this very moment with the door to my balcony open in the middle of the afternoon and hear nothing but a breeze.

The staff is beyond helpful. They are cheerful, attentive and knowledgeable.

The breakfast choices are mind blowing. They have everything you could imagine and then some. The food is good, but not excellent.

I love the little (in truth VERY FAT) fish in my room! One of the front desk personnel told me that he gobbles up all the food when they put it in the main tank. I guess he's the alpha fish. I hope all the other fish are eating well while he's with me ;) One note, the fish come with a little air pump. It does make a soft humming sound so if you like a silent room you might not want to ask for a fish.

There are only two negatives thus far, foam pillows and a SUPER annoying hair dryer that requires you to hold down a button to stay on. It took forever for me to dry my hair because my hand kept cramping and I had to stop to rest it.

All in all, this is a great place and I would happily stay again.

This hotel was great for our 3 day visit to Prague. It`s easy to find with good parking facilities. On entering the front desk staff were very friendly and attentive, the bell boy also had a fair few tips to share with us. We were really impressed especially as his english was pretty choppy. He made a solid effort to be informative and helpful, politely indulging our lame jokes and didn`t even expect to be tipped!! Now that`s what I call customer orientation. So far-- good impression.
Our room was lovely and squeaky clean..just a we bit small. But nothing that couldn`t be helped by moving a chair to one side. The room was quiet/ well sound proofed, facing a small side street/ alley. Absolutely no qualms with the bathroom facilities. The double bed was a good size, thank god not one of those usual european hotel double beds that consist of two singles wedged together. Extreeeemely comfortable.
The buffet breakfast had a good selection on offer, bright eating area and small outdoor area for those wishing to smoke or read the paper. The tables were a bit too tightly packed for my liking, but arriving a little earlier meant not having to sueeze in between tables to get to your seat. The serving staff were also pleasant and efficient.
Service from the front desk staff was great. One particular manager there was really friendly and extremely helpful, plying us with detailed info regarding how best to get where and how long it would take. Too bad our taxi driver wasn`t aware of all this! (he ruefully smiled at his errors in judgement and flipped the meter off when he realised we were no longer on the map).
The hotel is situated in a quiet and handy location, not far from the old town centre which was just a massive swarm of tourists. But not without good reason- prague is a fabulously picturesque city.
Hotel Maximilian is a great place to stay with staff well trained in customer service. Not too expensive and in a nice location which you can spend a good long while wandering about. Normal clientelle. Would definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed our brief stay in Prague at the Maximilian Hotel.

Andrea,Peter and Dominik were very kind and heplful. Breakfast buffet was excellent !

One additional comment : front desk personnel should always tell customers NEVER take cab in Prague if you do not know if they are "officially" authorized. There are too many bandits in that business (own experience) ! Just tell everybody to request a taxi from AAA or similar honest cab organization.

Maximilian Hotel is a nice, small hotel located near Old Town Prague, but away from all of the noise. The concierge and front desk staff were extremely helpful, patient and attentive in spending large amounts of time recommending restaurants, jazz clubs, black light shows, etc. The entire hotel staff was extremely warm, courteous and welcoming. Our room was bright and adequate in size. The included breakfast buffet was probably our favorite feature. It was good, large, and offered lots of variety, including daily chef specials.

One of the best hotel in Prague both for its quality and location. its a small hotel but almost everything fine. Friendly staff and very cute note greetings about weather every morning breakfast on every table, nice touch ! Hope will come back again . Don't forget to walk around the hotel, very close to Jewish Quarter, Old Town etc.

Room Tip: Higher floor and facing front side will have a better view
