“Great stay”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

Our first impressions were excellent! The hotel looks nice from the outside and the small reception area was modern and clean. Without being asked, the male receptionist gave us a brief introduction to Prague and the surrounding area, marking areas of interest and noting tram numbers which would take us to different areas of the city.

The first room we were allocated overlooked the road and we asked to be moved due to the traffic noise. This was not a problem and we were given another quieter room, looking out to the back of the hotel.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, with nice touches like a pillow and duvet ‘menu’. Our room had a small lounge with two chairs and a desk in addition to the bedroom. This was great and gave some additional space, as the bed area was not particularly spacious.

Breakfast included a reasonable selection of cereals, bread and rolls and also some cooked foods. It is possible to sit out in the garden if weather permits.

Room service is available from an Italian restaurant but we did not use this, as there were too many great restaurants to try in the city.

The hotel is a brisk 15 – 20 minute walk away from the more typical tourist area but there many trams running nearby that would take you into the centre. We particularly enjoyed the short walk from the hotel to the funicular railway station which took us up to Petrin Tower which has great views of Prague. We walked back down via some lovely streets and parkland to reach the Prague Castle complex.

The hotel offers a taxi transfer service which we took advantage of, emailing before our holiday. We paid EUR 39 for our return journey and could not fault the service. Upon arrival at Prague Airport, the driver was waiting in the arrivals hall with a board displaying our name. Drivers on both journeys were pleasant and we were transported in a large VW vehicle both ways.

Overall, a pleasant stay and we would happily recommend this hotel.

I was there early Jun for 4 days stays. I booked the airport transportation which make my life easier and it's very good service.

The breakfast is really good has everything you should have (milk, fruit, break, ham, cheese, ....). The room was clean and very comfortable, I had a room on the 5th floor with a perfect view of Prague!! There is a safe box in the room, so you can put the valuable thing while you go out sightseeing.

There is a shopping mall and big Tesco supermarket just 5 min walking distance from the hotel. 15 min walk to the charles bridge, and 20 min to the castle.

over all I really like this hotel, the reason I rate it 4 start but 5 is because the day I left, the elevator not working!! and I need to carry my baggage walk down 5 floor with no help!!!

We stayed in this hotel last year and we love it! The room was very very nice spacious and comfy. The breakfast room is ok ...a bit small but the quality of the breakfast is super.
The location is not super center but not too far to walk or take a Tram.
We would love to go back again!

The bedroom is a decent size with small table and two armchairs meaning you don't have to sit on the bed all the time. Location was good.Wi-fi free and worked well.I am torn as to whether to score this hotel 4 or 5 - it really deserves 4 and a half.
Only negative really was that the reception staff weren't that helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations.

We didn't know what to expect here--we picked Red and Blue Design Hotel because it was smoke-free and got good reviews. It met our expectations--the rooms were nice and very clean, the staff was lovely and very helpful, and it was well-located. You could tell that everything was well-maintained and cared for. We were able about a 15 minute walk to almost all of the attractions. If you didn't want to walk, the tram was about 5 minutes from the door. Breakfast was served buffet-style with sandwiches, eggs, toast, cakes, cereal, etc. The only problem we had was that when we were leaving the elevator was out of order--this was the only time this happened during our stay but it could have been a problem as we were on the 5th floor and I couldn't carry my suitcase down the spiral staircase. Fortunately our driver helped carry our luggage down the spiral staircase.

Room Tip: Our room was in the rear of the hotel--not on the street side. It was quiet. The street was busy so...
