This small hotel is fairly new, so everything from carpet to bed and bathroom fixtures was in excellent condition and very nice. The decor throughout the hotel was very nice. The appointments in the double bedroom are minimal, with good closet and small desk and chair, but it was very comfortable, if not spacious. The bed was just like home: not too hard! The bathroom was sparkling, with high quality and modern facilities. The included breakfast was delicious! There is a large dining area with large buffet of typical European foods and local specialties: many breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries, boiled eggs, coffee/tea, juices. The front desk staff was helpful and spoke good English. They directed us to a nearby restaurant where they spoke a little English and had a good selection of meals at reasonable prices. They called in a van service to take us to the airport when we left. The hotel itself was a good value, but the neighborhood reduced that, see below.
This hotel is 10 min. or so from the center of Prague, but the public trams worked well for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't in a very nice part of town - the area was run-down with some abandoned buildings. This detracted from our impression, since we walked 2 blocks through the area to use the public transportation. The hotel keeps the front door locked and you ring a buzzer to get in. There were always plenty of people out on the streets, including Moms with baby carriages, so we never felt in danger, but the area clearly needs revitalization. There is no air conditioning in this hotel, but the windows open. Unfortunately, that can let noise in at night, although the area is generally quiet.
