If you are looking for magical places like in a fairytail, then you shouldnt miss this places! But be sure to come when there is no high season. Cozy litlle town, with nice restaurants and small shops. Exeptional castle!

Beautifully preserved Medieval Town with cobbled street & old shophouses lined along the streets.

We were here few days before Christmas. There are some tourists but not too crowded. Other than the castle, you can walk around the town centre. There was a Christmas Market while we were visiting. Plenty of interesting shops to check out & surprise in the small alleys

We took a 3 hours bus ride from Prague, spent a few hours here, before heading to Salzberg. Had to pull our XL sized luggages from the bus stop, walked 15 mins on the cobbled streets with uneven stone sizes and stored in Information center. That was a stress test on our strength & endurance. But it was worthy.

My advise : come with light / no luggage, and good walking shoes.

Although Boxing Day there were groups of tourists and few locals. It appears few people actually live in the town because of the amount of tourists. It wasn't full of local spirit but tourists seemingly oblivious of other people and trying to walk through them. A beautiful place with little soul...pity.

2018 new years eve celebration was rock and roll theme. there were 2 bands playing until 1:30am. first band has accordions, feeling of authenticity combined in the cesky surroundings made if special, 2nd band was more like western style singing twist and shout kind of old rock and roll. did the countdown and 5 mins of fireworks as well.

A charming peaceful place that should be visited for a half day. You can take the bus from Prague for 20$ both ways (return ticket). The castle, the shops, the buildings, the nature, everything about this place is magical. The trip from prague is 3 hrs and the place is a must see.
