Great staff and rangers, very efficient booking and arrival process, with beautifully appointed, quality accommodation which was also great value.
Superb setting, pristine bush, amazing vistas of the 'berg.
Fly fishing in Bushmans' river will be amazing under better conditions.
Horse riding was also top quality.
Magnificent still-water on the property but its unclear if its stocked or well maintained.
Only area requiring attention would be the upkeep of some the accommodation and tennis court.
Lastly, for what its worth, the beautiful Rhino must be very high risk in this populated area of KZN, and a de- horning discussion with wildlife colleagues / experts may be a consideration.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent holiday at ZuluWaters

In response to some of your questions:

Our still waters are stocked annually with trout (both rainbow and brown) as they are unable to breed in lakes and dams.

Our rhino have had their horns treated by the Rhino Rescue Project which involved infusing them with a toxic poison and an indelible dye in order to render them valueless for both medicinal and ornamental use. In additional our rhino are monitored 24 hours a day by armed rangers.

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your time with us and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards
Lesley Martyn

We loved the tranquil scenery driving through mooi river's rolling hills, on our way home for rather active south cost sea break. We wanted to make our return trip home more manageable for my pregnant wife and 2 year old daughter, so I landed up spending way too much time on the web trying to find that perfect stop over that wasn't just a motel… I was well reward for my efforts as I stumbled across zulu waters (part of the midland miander)… A little over our expected budget for a stop over, but O so worth the extra R300-R400 it became a post holiday and a new gem we will defiantly re-visiting even if its just to get total break away from the city rush for a day or 2. The staff were super friendly. The river side cottage a retreat in the middle of nowhere, but with all the luxuries and nice to haves. A Soft lit warm bond fire, the sound of the river and wild life, a clear star filled sky and fresh air… awesome place to be quiet and relax.

Room tip: for a couple or family with up to 2 small kids the river cottage is the clear winner, great kitchen so just have enough food for your stay and you will be renewed refreshed and relaxed.

We stayed at the Lake Cottage for our 10 year anniversary. It was amazing! It is secluded and quiet. The animals came right up to our porch. No TV which we loved. We left feeling completely relaxed. We will definitely go there again.

A wonderful setting and plenty of game to view including rhino and buffalo. The rolling Natal hills provide for beautiful scenery and backdrops. The staff was welcoming and attentive to our needs for the day we were there. I would definitely go back and spend more them at this venue.

We stayed at the stunning Nandi self catering house and were blown away. It is wonderful, homely yet modern, comfortable and thoroughly relaxing.

Absolutely loved the lack of TV and cellphone reception.

The game drives were lovely and overall we had an awesome spur of the moment weekend away.

Also purchased some of their venison to take home, it is delicious!

We will definitely be back

Room tip: The Nandi self catering cottage is excellent value
