“A little disappointing...”

As a lot of the other reviews say... lovely views when you get to the top, however there are many places you can do this for free. A little pricy considering the size and facilities. There's not much of a castle at the top. We were very excited to see the caves but they are completely fenced off, prob for safety reasons but the brochure is a little misleading as it indicates you can access them!!

Firstly the car park is £3.00 whether you are a member of the EH or not. There isn't much to see however after a steep climb to the top where the castle is, the views are amazing. Entrance fee is pretty pricey however if you are a member of the EH it's no big deal.

There is a steep climb up to the castle but once there the view is great, there isn't much to see and do on top though.

Be advised there is a £3 parking charge even for English Heritage members.

Enjoyed an Easter Sunday visit to the castle. The carpark was chaos and lots of parking on the grass verges, but then after all the rain every other attraction in this area is having problems. There was an Easter trail for children which definitely needed adult assistance. What other Easter children trail have you come across where one of the answers is the Anglo Saxon poem 'Beowulf'.
The 2 children's entertainers were excellent and kept the children (and parents) engaged on their 'meet the dragon hunter' sessions.
Beeston is always worth the walk to the top just for the view.

As mentioned in other reviews, we were glad to be English Heritage members as there wasn’t much to see. There was a very steep trek to the castle but the views were fab. Certainly not accessible for wheelchairs or people who have mobility difficulties.
