“Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2012

Nice place close to the beach. The food was excellent, good churrasco, shrimp salad… but they need to improve their sangria receipt. The service was very good.

“Beautiful presentation, excellent menu, unique and delicious”

For special occasions this is the best in fine dining for the area. A little pricey but here you get what you pay for.

“Surprising. Gourmet.”

Pricey but was a nice change of pace. We are the type to get our lunch from the roadside vans. Ate there once and enjoyed it. Above average price though.

“Quality Tapas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2012

If you're looking for fresh, quality tapas, this is a great restaurant. One of the nicer establishments in Rincon. Plates were sized appropriately with good menu variation. The curry was particularly well done. We chose 5 tapas and all but the chacutterie plate were above-average. The chorizo on the chacutterie was decent, but you could tell they cut some corners on the rest of the plate and used canned goods. Not a huge deal, but clearly not worth the price of that plate.

Atmosphere is warm and modern. Decor is fairly West Elm-ish. We went as the sun was setting and the sky colors and cool air made for a very memorable evening.

TIP: If you get there early enough, there is one table closest to the pool where you have a fairly unobstructed view of the beach.

“Great food, so-so drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2012

The food and atmosphere at Casa Islena was wonderful. The shrimp with rice noodles was so light and refreshing. The fried cauliflower was also excellent! I would skip the mixed drinks and stick with beer or wine rather than order the mixed drinks. The sangria tasted watered down and my husband was barely able to finish his margarita.
