This is a working farm b & b - the owners were actually away on their holidays when we stayed, but the people who took over were fabulous. Very, very comfortable rooms, tremendously hearty breakfasts, and such a beautiful and comfortable setting. I would definitely stay at this place again and again. One criticism - make a better signpost as we, and everyone who was staying while we were there went to Knockaloe Farm, up the road, and not Knockaloe BEG Farm which was not clearly signposted.

Room tip: Not a bad room in the house - peaceful location

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay while we were away, we had a great cover team!
Hope to meet you in person next time you visit and will also hope to have a bigger signpost - planners willing!

We've just returned from 4 days on the beautiful Isle of Man staying at Knockaloe Beg. Wow, what a brilliant time! Fiona and John and their lovely family took hospitality to a new level. A superb breakfast set us up for the day's sightseeing. One of our boys was up at the crack of dawn to watch the cows being milked, play with the rabbits and guinea pigs and feed the chickens. He even helped John with the hay bailing, riding on John's Kubota around the farm. The location, a 20 minute walk into Peel, is just what you need after one of Fiona's amazing breakfasts.
I expect it won't be the last time John (and the rest of us) will visit Knockaloe.

We were the organisers of the inaugural international conference for Pilates teachers on the Isle of Man and had to find accomodation for
1) ourselves- a family of three including our 13 year old teenage boy and his friend
2) International presenters used to luxury" accomodation
Havng travelled to Knockaloe beg before we knew the locaton to be next to the site of the former internment camp where Joseph Pilates developed his method. It also had the accomodation which would suit everyone.
We rented the Byre for ourselves and a friend , 2 Glamping pods - one for the boys and another for 2 volunteers and 2 BB rooms for our guests,
Everyone was thrilled with their experience. The cottage is a delight, huge comfortable superking bed, sofas to relax in and a bath!
The freedom afforded by the Isle of Man for teenagers was great. The pod allowed them to have and some much needed independence having breakfast by themslves and the occasional dinner. This was a tech free holiday - phones only so the availability of wifi was a huge bonus.
The BB which we took advantage of on our last night was, as usual , exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for Fiona.
The location is great for a daily walk into Peel either over the hill or by road and buses are availble easily to take you around the island. The boys enjoyed their ability to rise at teenage appropriate time and get the bus to Castletown where we were having the conference. The boys and our guests also thoroughly enjoyed teh fact that the the weekends this is an open farn and enjoyed feeding the animals and seeng the kittens and piglets,
I would thoroughly recommend Knockaloe Beg- Book early though!

We booked Knockaloe Beg for an annual reunion of 4 couples, 1 of whom resides on the island and made the booking for us. The accommodation is charming and also highly practical: large rooms; good bathrooms with plentiful hot water and amenities; great living space, with a large guest lounge/dining room; amazingly thoughtful amenities including sherry and flapjack in the room, a very varied breakfast menu cooked (and grown) to order, and a fantastic array of sundries including earplugs in case the wind is up. Fiona is a thoroughly genuine and charming host, and walked the line between friendly and not intruding extremely well. We all loved her and her place. We slept really well, the food was fabulous, and the stay was totally easy. I would definitely go back and recommend this place highly if you want to get away from it all on the Isle of Man

Room tip: Stay in the main house adjacent to the family accommodation

Me and a few friends stayed in the "Yurt" on Monday evening! Wow what a experience! We had an amazing evening.

The Yurt would be for the clean Camper! A camping experience for those who don't like sleeping on the floor! Who want the best of both worlds! But they are great! It's a must!

The Yurt we stayed in was fully kitted out! 3 really comfy beds, blankets, Lights, a few lanterns, and even a stove :) it really was a pleasant stay!

We sat and played Board games all night and just chilled out, it's a great refuelling experience!

Even waking up to the farm atmosphere was bliss. It was so peaceful. I have visited knockaloe beg farm multiple times and I cannot fault them at all. The hospitality is second to none and I have never been disappointed in any of my visits!

Kudos knockaloe!

This review has made my day!
I am so pleased you are a 'Knockaloe Beg Fan'!!
The Yurt is our newest venture and will be even better next year with electric fairy lights, small cooker and fridge and a wooden platform in case it rains!
Still set in the middle of the Farm though with the odd visiting cat...
Come and stay again soon, try a wooden Wigwam in the winter next?
