Others have mentioned the lovely room and views so I will focus on what I consider to be one of the most outstanding meals I can remember. We ordered from the very reasonable prix fixe menu and were treated with numerous delicious, interesting dishes. The entire meal was an adventure because of the focus on unusual regional offerings and high standard to which they were prepared.

The cold brandade with caviar, rabbit rillette, and roasted pork belly were especially good. We enjoyed local wine which was both delicious and inexpensive. The staff was formal but extremely attentive and professional. The restaurant, like Cuenca, deserves more visitors.

We made advanced reservations and sat at the window overlooking the gorge. Terrific suckling pig and ambiance. the whole town is a treasure.

As said elsewhere, this restaurant is housed in a unique property and has a view to die for (if you ask kindly, the waitress will let you out on the balcony after dinner - which is otherwise closed).

Fantastic food, friendly and professional service (poco inglés) - unfortunately we were the only guests here this evening.

This restaurant is one for special occasions as it has the wow factor of being in one of the famous 'casas colgadas' of the city and it has the lovely interior decor to go along. The food is quite good (try the lamb stew) with a special mentioning for the Castillian wine "Ventus" which the waiter decants in such a professional sommelier manner. Also, if you want a view, do arrive earlier than Spanish lunch times, if not go in late in order to get the tables near the balcony.

Tourists visit Cuenca to see the beauty of the old city where buildings cling to the sides of cliffs, but, like many tourst towns, the culinary fare in the center of the City pales by comparison to the sites. This is certainly true of Cuenca, whose restaurants the square, serve as refueling stops only. However, if you walk into Cuenca across the footbridge on the east side of town (from front door of the Parador), be sure to stop at the first door on the left and climb the internal stairs where you'll find a Michelin listed (albeit not starred) restaurant and where you'll escape the mundane tourist offerings on the square. Clearly, someone here cares about food as much as the view. We "list" it here, as did Michelin, without the extra points necessary for a star, but the Meson was good solid restaurant serving well prepared food, in a stunning location at a reasonable price for the quality.
