Visited Phillip Island over the V8 Supercar weekend with our daughter and her partner who live in Melbourne. We absolutely loved that this cottage was just like stepping into your own place. It was not pristine with everything perfectly in its sterile place- it was homely, functional, cosy, had boardgames, DVD's, a great little yard with a place to sit with a beer or two at the end of the day. It had a driveway large enough to park the two cars in behind a lockable gate and was quiet. Also very convenient to the beach, the shops and the Thai restaurant where we thoroughly enjoyed a takeaway meal on our last night.
On arrival we had found a terrific butcher so armed with steaks and a few supplies from the Coles around the corner, we opted for a bbq. This made our night, just what we wanted. Diane the owner was absolutely wonderful to deal with via email before arrival and the instructions on how to get to and into the house were clear and precise. She was very welcoming and had left us a beautiful bowl of fruit- a very pleasant surprise.
We found the bed comfortable, the showers hot and plentiful with shampoo and soap supplies in a dispenser on the wall. All the necessary utensils, washing machine, dishwasher etc were available should you have needed them. I must say I did find the couch a tad uncomfortable but we were not in it long and that really did remind me of beach house days. Would love to visit this terrific little cottage again should we ever get back to Phillip Island. There is nothing better than feeling like you have walked into your own home.
The only down side has nothing to do with the Cottage at all...it is about the booking process. I made the mistake of booking through Trip Advisor. If you live in Australia then look up the accommodation options through the likes of Stayz etc and pay locally. TA is based overseas so my transactions also had international currency fees attached to them.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It's in such a convenient location being in such a central part of Cowes. It's just around the corner from the main shops. We also loved walking down to the end of the road and stepping straight onto the beach. The cottage has all the facilities that you will need for an enjoyable time away.
We stayed at Piet's Cottage on our recent visit to Phillip Island. We had 3 adults and two young children (aged 2 and 3). We found the house to be well appointed with everything we needed. We found the owner excellent to deal with and highly communicative. Property comes with everything including linen which was a big plus for us. Very conveniently located near the beach close to the Phillip Island Sailing Club. Also very convenient to the main street and cafes on the esplanade. We were visiting outside school holidays so it wasn't too busy but I would imagine it would get quite busy at the height of the holiday season. No problem with parking though with a driveway at the back providing easy access for unloading and loading cars (would take 3 cars easily). Plenty of space in the gardens for the kids to run around safely. One drawback for us is that it doesn't have a bath - that was OK, the kids just had to learn to use the shower. All-in-all an excellent place to stay when visiting Phillip Island.

A clean, comfortable and cute cottage. We had a great stay at this property over a long weekend. Location is great - the beach is a stone's throw away (you are looking at it from the front gate) and just a block away from the shops and restaurants of Cowes. We had our two teenagers with us so it was ideal - they could do their own thing and hit the shops while we relaxed in peace.
It's an old property which has been renovated with all mod cons. The owner is an artist so another point of interest is the finished and in-progress canvases. This place suits summer or winter stays - I am planning a winter weekend so we can light the open fire.
