Sure, it's crowded but if you go early or late in the day they aren't quite as bad, and no matter how crowded, you can still see without any problem. Sunset is the best view, but it is stunning no matter when or what the weather. Be prepared for a five minute walk to get from the carpark along level concrete paths with an upper path for the disabled. For a different view, go down the Gibson Steps (just a minute before the main tourist area) to the actual beach where there are two apostles on that side for memorable photos and a ground-level view. You can't access the other beach to my knowledge. Amazing stuff - do not miss them!

Despite it being busy there is ample parking, a cafe shop and clean toilets. You have to walk to the view points but the paths are good, clear and safe. There is room for everyone to get photos and enjoy the views. It is free and a stunning location.

This is worth doing as it's one of the must-sees in this part of the Great Ocean Road. There is a large car park with a very tacky little gift/coffee shop and you walk across to a good viewing point. We were here off-season and it was absolutely heaving with people. Hopefully not too many more of the Apostles will collapse into the sea!

There are not many left but what there is left is still amazing to have a look at. If you have a chance to see them then its worth it

Great view, extremely crowded on Boxing Day but as we travelled down GOR, this place started to feel like it's a tad over-rated. I got much better view further down GOR with far less people.

A stunning drive but also dangerous. Many tourists just stop to take photos of the ocean, scenery and often Koalas in gumtrees!!

This is a great little gem of a gift shop to buy some very original and reasonably priced gifts.
Give them a visit when you are in Apollo Bay next time.

Just a wonderful experience of Australian natural wonder. We did the full great ocean road experience with the 12 Apostles as the the major attraction.
It did not disappoint! We had great fine weather that highlighted the escarpment. The lookout points are now well setup for the tourist. Whilst the crowds were there, the facilities coped. Were able to avoid the Japanese selling photographers, as there is plenty of room.

Just amazing scenery!

We were so fortunate to visit on a clear, sunny weekday, when the views went on forever, and the tourist load wasn't unbearable. If you really want to enjoy the views, be prepared to walk a bit along the coastline to the various overlooks. It is quite stunning, and since things do tumble in to the sea on occasion, watch your step, and see the Apostles while they are still there in all their glory.
