“Gorgeous cottage and so peaceful”

This old cottage with tin pressed ceilings and a romantic open wood fire has been beautifully restored. Sitting on the front verandah in the afternoon sunshine sipping a drink was just delightful. Many of the paintings and mementos and furniture are from Gail's family and made the cottage so welcoming. A full kitchen, 2 bedrooms with king size beds, a renovated bathroom (although with a gorgeous original free standing cast iron bathtub), laundry with W/M and clothesline. Whilst the historic main homestead is close by there is complete privacy with a wonderful garden (has been in Open Garden Days) surrounding the cottage and the homestead. 5 mins from Claire and excellent directions from Gail. Excellent provisions in the kitchen pantry and a frig - with sausages, bacon, eggs, juice, bread, milk - it was wonderful !!

“"Hows the Serenity" , as Daryl Kerrigan would stay”

We were so lucky to find all the reviews on our new favourite holiday gem, exceeded all expectations. Following an 8 hr drive from home to Clare, we were welcomed with privacy and an open fire, to enjoy the serenity of the peace and quiet of Browns House.

Jasper was always ready to say hello each day.

The thought Gail has placed into her special farm stay house reflects the high quality of layout out, provisions and cleanliness.

Browns House is a great location to crash, rest and explore the beauty of Clare and all it offers.

Thank you Gail and family, we will certainly visit again.

Mr Micks restaurant and winery, is a terrific place for lunch, wise to book.

“Very Friendly & with a history lesson”

Brown's House is full of the past and historically was previously the home of one of the main farm's workers. It has been restored to a level of comfort whilst retaining what we think might have been the original mood of the home. It is situated about 6 klms from the main township but is easy to find. There is a bit of dirt road but nothing that any car couldn't handle. The gardens are a notable feature of this bed & breakfast and are worth a walk through. We stayed there on a cold night which made the open fire a treat. We suspect that a summer stay would be equally fun because of the shaded area surrounding the home. The hosts were very friendly (over the telephone & email) and whilst we did not meet them, every effort by them was made to ensure we had a great stay. The nightlife in Clare on a Saturday is very quiet but the "Taminga Hotel" was friendly and the pick of the bunch. Restaurants in the area seemed to be more focused on lunch instead of dinner opening hours but we might have just been unlucky. Overall, Brown's House is well priced and would best suit those looking for a quiet getaway.

“Charming, Comfortable, serene, convenient location”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Browns Cottage. Lovely farm stay accomodation. Private and serene setting which is conveniently located to Clare, local wineries and attractions. Fully provisioned kitchen to self cook if required. Warm, charming and comfortable home with open fireplace and a/c. Each of the two bedrooms are large and spacious. Loved the friendly greeting and regular visits from Jasper the homestead labrador, (who doesn't mind a cuddle or a tummy rub or two). Stayed for three days, wished we could have stayed longer. Sad to leave.
No internet or mobile phone reception, average tv reception - just perfect for a quiet relaxing getaway.

Beautiful old cottage in surprising lush bush location. Complete with farm dogs and all the charm of a beautifully restored workers cottage. Highly recommend this cottage for a relaxed stay.
