My wife and I just returned from a six-night honeymoon at the Hotel Jashita. It was everything we could have wanted and more. The property, which sits on a secluded slice of Solomon Bay, is beautiful and serene and has the most caring, hospitable staff we've ever encountered on vacation.
The hotel and its grounds are immaculate. We stayed on an ocean front suite that was equipped with a balcony and plunge pool. In the room is a couch and beautiful four-post bed, a closet and a bathroom with a rain shower; the balcony had a variety of furniture on which we could sit and watch pelicans dive into the water and just take in the beach spread out before us. Everything was clean and comfortable and the maid service did a wonderful job tending to the rooms each night.
The hotel grounds are beautifully designed in the feel of a zen Italian villa. There's a pair of swimming pools and a large variety of comfortable chairs and couches. The Sahara restaurant, which is a large part of the grounds, has a number of indoor and outdoor tables, a lovingly prepared menu and a caring staff. We ate a large breakfast of fruit, eggs, fresh juice, coffee and pastries there every morning (it was included in our stay and absolutely wonderful) and the restaurant's owner, Clement, came through to say hello and offer us complementary cappuccino every morning. Juan, Ramirez and Miguel on the wait staff were particularly fantastic, but all were wonderful.
The entire staff is as welcoming. The waiters, the house staff, the owners -- all were extremely welcoming and kind. They each went out of their way to say hello, or ask us if we needed anything. In particular, Ulises, who is part of the concierge team, helped us plan trips (we went to the Sian ka'an biosphere and the Tulum ruins during our trip), scheduled cabs and even chased my wife down with an umbrella in hand one day to ensure she didn't get wet during a light rain shower. Laura and Marisol were also extremely helpful.
I could go on about the Jashita for much longer than I have -- everything there was better than we could have ever anticipated. It's a very special place that we were fortunate to experience.
