cute little town, nice boutiques specialising in woollens (if you need), great jade factory (if you like jade souvenirs) and lovely strip to walk down in general, great scenery around and picturesque drive to get there which is just a short drive from Queenstown

Busy and small town. Nice to spend money in souvenirs, food and jewellery. Known for its gold mining and Chinese gold miners. You can spend the day just walking around. The sorroundings and natural landscapes are very amazing.

Arrowtown village is a really pretty part of the South Island. The village itself is only really small but really beautiful.
There are a couple of great little boutiques along the Main Street.
Only 20mins drive from Queenstown. Great picturesque village.
I would recommend and come back.
We visited Arrowtown twice - it was like walking back in time. Loved the unique shops and surroundings.
We chanced upon this gem when driving around whilst staying in Queenstown. The whole place has a lovely feel to it . the shops etc are well worth visiting and we found the museum to be superb and we could have spent more time in it but we wanted to see all around including the Chinese village.
