Lovely scenery and great variety of bird life including Eagles, jabiru, herons, Jesus birds and many more. Plenty of crocodiles add interest to this lovely area.

We did the whole walk around, about 2.5 kms, which was great, but the most interesting viewing is between the various car parking spots just off the road. Plenty of bird life and water lillies.

Anbangbang Billabong was closed due to flooding when we arrived there in December. Decided to take the short walk (250 m) to Nawurlandja Lookout which started in the same parking area. Glad we did it. A bit of a hike but not difficult. What a breathtaking view! Nourlangie Rocks and sweeping lush forest surrounding Anbangbang Billabong with mountain in the background. Excellent photo opportunities. Weather was cool then but now in dry season, you may need to take water along.

Not much to do here, the walk was okay but probably a bit too dry to see any animals apart from magpie geese. Still okay to do but there are better ways to see the wetlands.

Recommend wearing inspect repellent before embarking on walk that took approx. 1 hour at leisure pace. Flat ground and easy to walk.
