So good to see crocodiles in their natural habitat eating barra as they came over the crossing. I did throw the line in but it is a little unearthing having a dozen crocs watch your every move!
Good spot to sit and watch the vehicles tackle the tide.

The Visitors Centre in Katherine told us about Cahill's Crosssing and she was 100% right. Lots of Crocodiles waiting and watching for a feed , we went twice to try and catch the tides but had no joy. There is a viewing platform above the crossing and you can watch the mad fishos risk life & limb !! The crossing is the roadway/causeway leading over to Arnhem Land.

Fabulous chance to view crocodiles in their natural habitat. Allow plenty of time and ensure you are there at high tide.

I'd seen so many pictures and youtube vids of Cahills Crossing, it was fantastic to see it in real-life.
It's definitely worth a visit if you're travelling through Kakadu.

When we were there, there was at least 2 cars in the water that had been washed off the crossing. Although we didn't see any crocs at the crossing, we'd seen plenty others a short way downstream, so we definitely knew they were around.

There are no facilities or shops close by, so pack some lunch and a drink and could easily spend an hour or so on the viewing platform watching (and laughing at) those brave and (sometimes unprepared) people that try to cross.

I read somewhere that this is Australia's most dangerous crossing... if you wish to drive from Kakadu National Park to Arnham Land, you drive this crossing through water... and hope you don't get washed away and drown in your car... unless you get out of your car and you get eaten by the many crocodiles that are waiting for their dinner!!
It is a very interesting place to go to the viewing platform and watch people drive across.
Be croc wise!!
