Take a drive in and visit the lookouts and Visitor Centre. It's great to stop. Look out for the lizards on the roads.
We have come here a few times over the years and this time was to take a few photo's of the new car.

We have been travelling through Central Australia and western Queensland and it is now interesting to find out more about the plants we have been seeing along the way. There are some rare plants which are not seen in many places which are unusual and interesting. Some plants had finished flowering but others still had flowers and buds. You can do short or longer walks along well marked tracks though the gardens and across the sand dunes. We visited the bird hide but as it was the middle of the day there weren't many birds to see. The lookout is worth going to as it gives an elevated view across the gardens to the Flinders Ranges. We enjoyed the hour or so we spent wandering around reading the names of the plants on display. Some plants are locals and others are arid plants from different areas. Well worth a visit if you like learning more about plants.

Various short walks around a garden of desert plants and wildlife (shingleback lizards and birds). End your walk in thye cafe for a good hot coffee or an ice cold drink

A very relaxing garden to wander around & see plants that we have not seen before. This was also the only place that we found Sturt Desert Peas which are spectacular.
The cafe was bright & clean & has reasonable coffee & some interesting things on the menu including some bush flavoured ice cream. Our cakes were very good.
Well worth a visit.

Thank Noel D
