“Raising the bar for B&Bs in idyllic Kaikoura”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

Jane and Quentin are fantastic hosts who are raising the bar for B&Bs with so many extra touches that are very appreciated. This includes a changing and delicious breakfast menu that omits the need for lunch, complimentary wine/beer, free wi-fi without the need to worry about passwords and codes, home-baked goodies and some additional toiletries (who ever remembers to bring cotton buds travelling)?

With great sized rooms and bathrooms that are immaculately cleaned, amazing views and such genuine Kiwi hospitality and local knowledge, look no further for accommodation in Kaikoura.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Dolphin Room, which is nearer the highway but with the double glazing, we did not n...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights with Jane and Quentin (and Jack) at the Nikau Lodge. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, especially the coffee. Jane and Quentin were very helpful about birding attractions in Kaikoura. I high recommend this lodge for these friendly folks and especially for Jack’s antics.

Jane and Quentin are lovely people and the perfect B&B hosts. They made us feel relaxed and like nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are great with stunning views and the extra touches like the free wifi, hot tub, complimentary wine and home made cookies really made a difference. The breakfast was also the best we had during our 3 week stay in NZ and so if you are planning a stay in Kaikoura I would recommend staying here.

We spent one night at Nikau Lodge en route to Nelson, and what a great first night of our holiday it was! The lodge is lovely, really comfortable and welcoming. Our room had an amazing sea view and fantastic, organic products in the bathroom. We appreciated the delicious home made cookies and enjoyed a complimentary beer from the guest fridge. Highly recommended!

Jane and Quentin are the perfect B&B hosts. Their rooms are beautifully appointed with lots of extra touches that put a smile on your face - stunning views, complimentary beer & wine, yummy cookies, free wifi and a mouth-watering breakfast menu that changes every day. You couldn't hope for a more relaxing place to stay. We stayed in the dolphin room which has one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
