Owner description: We are Northland's first three-day private unguided walk. Situated at Whangarei Heads our boutique walk encompasses private farmland, stunning ocean and harbour beaches, rural roads, recreational reserves and public walkways. Start each day from our immaculately presented lodge and walk through an amazing variety of landscapes. At the end of the day return for a delicious dinner prepared by us and cooked by you. This outstanding natural experience will leave you with lasting memories.

Fabulous lodge, facilities and food - delish home cooking and baking and free range eggs from the farm. Claire’s a wonderful host. Our walks were awesome. Transportation to and from tracks provided and Adam (local ranger) was so knowledgeable and keen to share. The 2 shorter walks were stunning. The 2nd longer day walk, around 5 hours, (Ocean Beach to Urquhart Bay) was hard (big ups and downs - steps and tree roots) but really rewarding (native bush, wildlife and wicked ocean views). We saw Robby the Rockstar (black robin) and amazingly the very rare white robin too, no kiwi sightings but we did spot kiwi poo, very cool; and we think we saw takahe but there was some debate about whether it was a pukeko - oh and a dead possum, good work DOC and the wider team that includes a lot of volunteers! Such an awesome experience and weekend away with great friends, highly recommend!

I spend the weekend with a group of friends at the Lodge doing some of the spectacular walks. As there was group of nine of us, both days we went off in two different groups so in fact we covered four of the walks but there are many more to do, which I intend to come back to the lodge at a later date with my husband & other friends to complete more. The Lodge is well set up & Mark & Claire who run it are wonderful, very helpful but leave us to our own devices after providing wonder meals. The lodge is only a few years old & has great rooms, living areas & bathrooms including an outdoor shower, toilet & bath. There is a lovely outdoor area to BBQ or just sit & enjoy a coffee or a wine with friends. There are great views from the decks too.

Lovely, modern, spacious accommodation, and fantastic home-cooked food. Our group of 9 particularly appreciated the scrummy pre-dinner snacks provided each evening, including having liquid refreshments available for purchase! The ocean beach walk was beautiful and the hilly bush walks were a real contrast offering stunning views. It was great that different members of the group could choose different options, with our wonderful host/cook/driver, Claire, ensuring we were all dropped off and picked up as required. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful beaches and scenery. Lots of options for different walks from challenging downhill to a ramble a long the beach. Claire's meals and baking delicious and super generous in servings. You really don't need to take any extra food at all. House layout was great. Plenty of bathrooms and comfy beds.
Claire was a super host and made us feel very welcome..... her attention to detail amazing. I would definitely recommend this catered walk in such a beautiful part of NZ. We were blessed with fine weather which was a huge bonus.

Fabulous host, accommodation was excellent, the food was beyond anything expected. Would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors, loves to walk/tramp and swim, being active and enjoying the friendly ambience with good friends at the end of a long busy day. Great to enjoy with family, friends in a group, whatever. Could not speak more highly of our lovely host, cook and tour guide, Claire.
