George and I went to watch Andre Rieu's 2016 concert in his hometown of Maastricht. Excellent afternoon and of course great music. We are going up to Auckland in November to hear him "live" and that will be a real thrill. I booked our seats on-line and we collected them the day before as there were no allocated seats and that meant turning up early to get good viewing. We recently lost our Cinema Gold Theatre and that is a real shame as they showed a better class of movie and also had a Senior morning tea once a fortnight which was very popular. I mourn the loss of this theatre and hope that whoever purchased it, has the sense to re-open it and continue it's role in Palmerston North.

Moved from London, so was expecting the cinema to be busy for the opening days of a block buster.

We got there early, seats don't get allocated.

The cinema was a third full, result, plenty of space.

Well priced, screen is a little on the small side for my liking.

People are helpful.

Queue for popcorn was quite long.

The only movie theatre complete in Palmerston North so you don't have much choice. The venue is kept quite tidy considering it is a movie theatre. It can be quite expensive by the time you get snacks, the choice of snack is very average, the standard popcorn and drinks, there is no liquor licence or hot food. As I said your standard movie theatre. However the cinema gold does have a more ambient feel and has a different selection of drinks and snacks however the selection of movies is limited. A little hint if you are a customer of the telecom company Spark you can print off vouchers from sparks website and get $11 movie tickets at any time

Great place, one of the better cinemas I've been to lately, great service, lines went down quickly and the lobby and cinemas were clean and tidy

Palmerston North is my home town. There is only one cinema complex. The staff were very nice. I had to return a ticket. They gave me a refund without a problem.

We saw the latest Star Wars movie in 3D. The screen was on the small side and the seats were uncomfortable. Maybe getting a bit old?
