Great museum with many beautiful artefacts. The dragon is huge. Entrance price is cheap. The gardens and temple are both very good also

Interesting museum about chinese culture in the area. Great to see the Chinese Dragons and all that goes with them. Friendly and informative guide within the museum for any questions you have.

The Golden Dragon Museum explains the history of the Chinese in Australia, in particular the Bendigo region. The first Chinese arrived in Bendigo in the 1850s, lured by the Great Australian Gold Rush. The Museum has a number of interesting features, including a Chinese garden and the processional dragon Loong. Loong means dragon in Chinese. Also of interest is the temple dedicated to Kuan Yin, the Buddhist goddess of mercy. The Golden Dragon is a living museum, local guides can assist in putting the exhibits in context. Chinese New Years Day is February 12, 2021. The coming Lunar New Year is the Year of the Ox. Oxen are hard-working, intelligent beasts, so we can hope for an auspicious year. The museum is interesting, it's well worth a tour.

Interesting museum with so much to see - exhibits on gold rush, historic Chinese artefacts etc

The highlight for us though was definitely the Chinese gardens next door. The Buddhist temple was also definitely worth a visit

I initially went in here to fill in time until the hotel was ready, however I actually really enjoyed the experience.
There is alot to look at and alot to read.
Being in Bendigo alot of it was about the Chinese during the gold rush times.
Plenty to take photos of (without the flash).
The Gardens that's associated with the museum were nice and cool on a 34 degree day.
They had some fish swimming around in the water.
Takes about 20-30 minutes to work your way through the museum and I were only in the small gardens for about 5 minutes.
I learnt alot that I didn't know previously and recommend if you have spare time.
