Beautiful building but back in the 70's !
Air conditioning vents above bar extremely old and ugly. Blue decor on wall not enjoyable to look at. Chairs need covering new carpet needed, I'm a property styler and can see needed work for this place to look amazing !

Even thou the hotel is in a prime beach location it sits on a cross road that is extremely busy. Once inside its quite open with an inviting coffee lounge. However thats were the fun stopped, on arrival we were desperate for a nice coffee so went down to the coffee lounge and meet the barista Jonathan, what an experience, he asked us for our order 4 times over the course of actually getting a coffee, the last time he returned with 2 black coffees for a different table and tried upsetting the black coffees with a biscuit, in the end a women took our order and we only waited 30 minutes to actually having a coffee from the time of arrival. On the level our room was located their appeared at some time scenic pictures were once located along the foyers but these had been removed and the space painted over were the pictures were removed the wood frames were damaged but not repaired just painted over. For a 4 star hotel their was certainly a lot of issues.

Room Tip: Request Ocean Views 3 level up, spectacular Sea Scape....

Went there for a weekend away with my wife to see Tina Arena. Got a ocean view room which was clean and beautifully presented. From the time we were greeted by Brittany at reception right through to check out we could not fault our stay. The room, the bar staff, the gaming staff, the food, the location-SENSATIONAL.
Would thoroughly recommend staying at the Novotel Nth Wollongong, you will not be disappointed and will enjoy the very attentive staff. AAA+ rating from me.

We are quite late and were checked in by a very pleasant cheerful and delightful woman. Sadly I was too tired to get her name. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable although I'd much rather have a king sized bed! Breakfast was part of the room rate and very delicious.

We travel often to Wollongong and stay in a variety of accommodation.
Reception staff who welcomed us to our four night stay at Novotel Northbeach were pleasant and helpful - a good start.
We required parking - entrance/exit to carpark was difficult to navigate - small squared turning spaces with lots of roped and taped edges and low ceilings showing evidence of many vehicle collisions. Understand that Novotel can't change bad design.
We had problems with our keycard room access - two re-scans. Also problems with parking card access - re-scanned once, holding up access for cars behind us. Staff always pleasant and helpful.
The hotel foyer was clean, wide and easy to navigate and our city view room was spacious, very clean and had a small sea view. A great bonus - the window opened!
Bathroom was spacious, newly renovated and very clean, but only one towel rail, no hooks to enable hanging of toiletry bags. Shower over high sided plastic bath - quite difficult to get out of. Probably impossible for short stature/ less mobile people.
The lobby bar was large and pleasant but bar does not have beer on tap and the one time we tried it there was only one barman serving drinks and preparing food, resulting in a large queue - we waited ten minutes and left.
Dining in on two nights we ordered from the special healthy menu. Food was beautifully presented, well cooked and tasted wonderful.
Thank you Novotel for very clean, comfortable accommodation, great food and well trained staff. Just short on the details.

Room Tip: City view rooms also provide small view of sea.
