Stayed two nights with husband, toddler and dog. Nice room, clean, small fridge, small lounge, digital TV, plenty of room for cot (carpet on the floor-which makes it warmer for the cot), sports equipment and small sausage dog! We really appreciate that they let well mannered dogs visit too. Our room fee didn't cover a daily clean of towels, so you may want to confirm that. We had a nice courtyard with built up block wall, high enough to keep our dog in while we had breakfast. The courtyard had a lovely view of the tennis court, vineyard and surrounding, cloud covered hills. We were in room 201 which was situated on the end of a newer? block of rooms. Close to tennis court. It had undercover parking. The restaurant is only a quick walk away. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Good quality ingredients. The Mill Restaurant has a nice decor and had the fire going the previous night when we dined there. The casual pub/restaurant across the central courtyard was also good for dinner the night before. Both restaurants were child friendly with quick, great food and friendly staff. Highchairs were available at The Mill. Staff were great going above and beyond to help.

Nat, thank you for your feedback and glad we accommodated everyone’s needs including your little one and the furry one. It is great to know on the second time here you were as happy as the last.
The rooms you stayed in were the Vineyard View rooms and sometimes we get mixed feedback as these are not Tuscan in style (but we do not say they are)...so good to hear you enjoyed them; likewise the parking being conveniently at your backdoor with cover over it; particularly good when it is raining or on hot days.
Looking forward to your 3rd visit.

Thank you

After reading the previous reviews prior to our stay I was very concerned that I had waisted my money by booking this hotel, once we arrived I was very very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is perfect! The rooms are big and spacious, very clean & look axactly as the website shows. All the staff were very friendly & helpful & the food was AMAZING at both breakfast & the tapas restaurant! I highly recommend staying here! It's beautiful & very close to lot of the major wineries. I will definitely be coming back for a second stay!

Room Tip: The olive grove room.

Stayed here for one night, rooms were good size, clean and quiet, however the decor is stuck in the 20th century. Having been on holiday to Tuscany a couple of times, I think they have missed the mark and need a revamp. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, but staff in The Mill restaurant were too casual and although I love the Aussie relaxed style, I expected more professionalism. Good menu and wine list but service was VERY slow and although the starters (soft shelled crab) and mains (pork belly) were delicious, the fish was over cooked and dry. We did receive an apology but had to ask for a reduction on the bill (make sure you check it as we were charged for food we didn’t have). Overall, a reasonable stay for one night in the Hunter and value for money for the room, away from the main drag and within easy reach of the Broke wine area.

Thank you for your feedback; could you have stayed in the Vineyard View rooms rather than the Tuscan styled Olive Grove rooms which could explain the sentiments regarding your room. I am excited to let you know we have a new culinary team in the kitchen. Appreciate your understanding regarding the bill and that you enjoyed most of your meal; apologies the fish was a bit dry.

We spent one night here in February 2012 on our way down to Sydney. We got a room overlooking the vineyard and we were pleasantly surprised by the peace and quiet. The location is lovely - near two wine tasting venues and you can walk so that you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. No Wi-Fi and the bathrooms and furniture are a bit outdated but our room was clean except for a few stains on the carpets. We had a nice courtyard to sit out on and enjoy our wine and fresh cheese from next door. Reception was polite and welcoming. We took a stroll down the country road around dusk and all of the Kangaroos were making there appearance. Stunning scenery.

Thank you for your feedback and when passing through please come and stay. We apologise regarding the wireless network as we had a lightning strike and since then have had issues. The Olive Grove room is now rectified and by mid-June all rooms should be have the wi fi working again. We have just had the carpets cleaned so there should be no stains. Glad you enjoyed the stay and we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful location.
Look forward to welcoming you to the Hunter Valley again.
Thank you& regards
