“Worth The Stop”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

As we were travelling from Bright to Yarrawonga, and wanting to stop at the Bandiana Army Museum, we decided to break this section of our trip and stay overnight at Albury Manor House.
We made the right choice.
The Spa Room was very comfortable and our room was well away from the trafrfic noise in Young Street.
You could cut of the view with the spa/shower curtain, but I would much prefer not having to have my spa next to the toilet.

some people have said "never eat where you sleep" but then maybe they've never stayed at the AMH..... My wife enjoyed her "soup of the day" ... chicken and vegitable / and the Beef and Ale Pie. Fortunately I chose the prawn cocktail...something far removed from the "few prawns and lettuce leaf of the 70's. I was thinking of the wagu specialty of the house, but as I'd already ordered the prawn cocktail, I decided on a rare-medium rare eye fillet.... pepper sauce with salad..... I was impressed....the piece of fillet was great and cooked to perfection..
One can only comment on what one has expereinced first hand...in this case it is all positive.

Room Tip: Our room was right at the end of the corridor, which was the furthest away from the lift. We had bo...

Our family of 4 (2 daughters aged 12 and 15) stayed here on our way to and from Melbourne. Both times I found Margo (on booking) and Michael (on checking out) to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious, with great hot water pressure in the shower. Also able to get a good nights sleep as very quiet. The staff in the dining room were extremely accommodating allowing the girls to order chicken parmigiana from the room service menu. The breakfast was well priced, had the eggs Benedict the first time but didn't like the sauce, the vege omelette was delicious, and again they were great allowing my daughter to order 2 pancakes with ice-cream and get some fresh fruit from the buffet. Other hotels would be well advised to send their staff to Albury Manor House for training in customer service.

My wife and I travel to Albury on a regular basis as my racehorses are trained locally. From our first stay three years ago the staff led by two Micheals made us feel as if we were old friends. Nothing is too much trouble.I cannot begin to tell tell you what lengths they go to in order to make you feel welcome. It is their attitude that makes this grand old lady better than any hotel we have stayed in throughout the world - from the Ritz in London to the Melbourne Casino.
The king size beds and old world decor suit our tastes. Yes, the rooms are a little dated, but that only adds to the charm of the place. They have a limousine that can be hired at very reasonable prices. As I usually take my Rolls-Royce it is great that the hotel has undercover parking.
The amount of repeat business that the hotel has confirms how well guests are looked after. The restaurant is very good, and having a check out time of 10.30 makes getting ready to depart that much easier. There is a lift, which makes it easy to access rooms on the first floor.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms are quieter if there is a funcion on.

We have just had a 4 day stay at Albury Manor House. We booked through Wotif.com and got excellent rates, making it great value...a Tudor style, both inside and out, complete with red carpets, knights guarding the entry, leather arm chairs in the bar and period paintings and decor. Suites even come with four poster beds.
We were very comfortable in a standard room..plenty of space, good sized bathroom, desk, chairs and table and arm chair. We were given 2 for 1 breakfast vouchers on our arrival so we ate in the very comfortable dining room for all breakfasts as well as 2 evening meals, and enjoyed them all. Very friendly service as this is a family run business and they obviously take pride in their hotel and the service they provide. We would definitely recommend this to others as it is has a lot more atmosphere than the 'vanilla style' run-of-the-mill motels.
