We would like to add to the well deserved praise for the people, the rooms, the garden, etc. at Briardale. Sitting in the morning watching the birds in the peaceful garden was a joy. The local pub which was recommended by Robert a good place for a meal after a long drive. As others have said Briardale is packed with old world charm, so if that is what you want come here. We did and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Albury can be easily reached from Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra in half a day whereas to drive directly between Sydney or Canberra and Melbourne is demanding to say the least, making this a good place to break the journey and see something of Australia other than cities and roads. The Rutherglen wine region is a short drive away across the Murray offering wineries, restaurants and much more. There are also good walks for all levels of fitness within easy reach.More
