After arring in Invercargil to find our accommodation booking was wrong we rang around with no success as everthing was booked out. This seemed to be the case in Te Anau and having 6 of us made things even more difficult until we rang the Arran Motel (sorry forgot the name of the manager) but he went out of his way to move beds around in the last room to accommodate us. The room was were very comfortable and in a really great spot within an easy walk to the lake. Very very greatful and ended up having a great sleep in very comfy beds.

Motel owners extremely friendly and helpful. The motel complex is just a short walk from town centre.
Parking is very easy. If you want plenty of space this is the largest motel unit I have ever stayed in.

This place has a wonderful family feel to it. The host is quite friendly and very helpful about points of interest, though I'd advise double checking his information as it is not 100% accurate! (He told us we could easily walk the first part of the Milford track from Milford Sound but we got there and were told you have to arrange for a water taxi across the river, and getting to the trail is not an easy task. Also told us about an overlook but got the location incorrect).

Place is clean and comfortable with separate bedroom, and additional bed and sofa bed in living area. We were amazed at the size of the rooms! Wifi connection is strong and without hassle. We enjoyed our stay.

The owner has a great sense of humour, he is however a dedicated professional, and you will not regret staying here. Spacious rooms, great water pressure in the showers, basic cooking amenities, this is a great motel in a great area of a wonderful country, not too expensive either, to be highly recommended.

We had a single room unit that had a very large main room with another bed, bed settee kitchen, tv etc. Feels recently refurbished.
We didn't need heating but it was available if required. Great shower pressure. Very quiet.
Good 10 minute walk, with great views of the lake, to the main part of Te Anau for restaurants and shops.
Good to get some trip advise from the motel operator as he knew the area well.

Room tip: We wanted a one bedroom unit with our daughter sleeping in the main room. None of the units looked like they needed to be avoided.
