We stayed 3 nights over Easter and could't have been happier with the quality of the room and the level of service and attention to detail. We had their basic room - but it was still a good size, separate lounge / sitting area with a gas fire, large bathroom with bath and lovely modern and stylish furnishings and fit-out. The Grill was great for dinner with excellent service - yes, it's not cheap, but hey, you're on holidays and most of the places in town were of equivalent cost for similar standard. We had a disappointing dinner at one of their other restaurants, Me and Mee, but our concerns were addressed professionally and swiftly. It is a bit out of town (10-15 minutes) so having a car is a good idea if you easily want to get around to see everything that Queenstown has to offer. Parking is free and easily accessible on site. A great hotel in a fantastic part of the world.

I am sorry there was a problem with Me & Mee but glad that it was all dealt with at the time.
Yes it is handy if you have a car but with the hotel shuttle and the water taxi, transport into Queenstown is not a problem.

We stayed at this Hilton on our recent trip to New Zealand. It is a gorgeous hotel. When I think of Hilton, I normally think of average hotels - but this hotel is amazing. The rooms are comfortable, the artwork throughout the hotel is interesting, and the restaurant has a great full breakfast (included). The concierge are very helpful and planned all of out activities - billed straight to our room. Talk about convenience! When I had a small problem here or there - the staff all bend over backwards to remedy it. They also take note to remember you by name. A fantastic and beautiful hotel, would definitely stay again. The ONLY complaint is that it is not very close to town (8km outside) - but they have free shuttles and cheap water taxi service to help you get to and from town. Still, it's on the water and there are great views. Top notch!

My husband and I spent four nights at the Hilton Queenstown over Easter 2012 and what a blissful four nights they were! The hotel certainly did live up to our expectations. The room - amazing. So much space. Lovely bed and linen. Huge bathroom with the best hotel bath and shower ever! Catching the water taxi into town was well worth it and a fun way to get there. We only ended up eating in town on one of the four nights choosing to stay at the hotel on the other three as the choice of places to eat there was fantastic. Wonderful pool/spa complex. Very reasonable valet parking and easy self parking too. The hotel was so peaceful and quiet - perfect for relaxing and we would love to come back!

Fantastic location on the lake, great walking track along the waters edge.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Waking up the first morning to see the first dusting of snow on the Remarkables was amazing - very pretty!

Hilton Queenstown was chosen by us for a family holiday 3 nights. Initially had a few hassles using the online booking engine, for 2 rooms, 2 adults and 3 kids. So opted to deal directly with hotel staff. All enquiries were dealt with efficiently.
We arrived to find upgrade to our room, which was beautiful. Although you couldn't go wrong with a standard room either. As they are delightfully appointed, with large bathrooms, and gas fire. You won't spend much time in your room here anyway. The kids loved the pool, gym, and theatre. We all loved the fact the staff referred to us by name on most occasions.
Restaurants were superb. Ben, especially, in the Wakatipu Bar and Grill was superb.
Breakfasts were included in our rate, and for 5 people it was well worth it.
The outdoors areas in this hotel, with fires, are great places to watch the sunset hit the Remarkables. The water taxi and shuttle van were super easy to use, and it was a pleasure after each day of action/adventure to see the hotel grow larger as we approached. We had our own car also, but was more fun to use the taxi. Valet parking definitely recommended, there was no wait for your car to turn up when requested.
On that note, on arrival, it's a little confusing where to drive to check in, as we were not aware we could just turn left and drive into the building. It's just not obvious, if you have not been there before. No sweat once you know.

Room Tip: Lake view room, but don't worry if there are none, standard are just fine.
