Adventure Queenstown Hostel

This place is just... the best. I first stayed here in June 2015 for 3 nights and absolutely fell in love with Queenstown, so I came back 10 weeks later and stayed here again.

The staff here are great and make you feel so welcome! They even give you a tour of the whole place when you first arrive. You can book any activities at the reception desk and they have iPads and other goodies for hire. The location is fantastic, it is safe and secure, the staff host activities/dinners most nights, there's a great common area and kitchen and they have free wifi.

I stayed in the 5 bed female dorm with an ensuite both times and would definitely recommend this room! Never underestimate the joy of coming home to a hot shower in the ensuite, after a long day of exploring and adventuring around freezing cold Queenstown!

The room is decked out with 2 sets of bunks and a single bed, plus a dresser, some free toiletries, towels (including extra towels for your hair!), a hair straightener, heater/air con, ironing board, tv and the list goes on and on. The beds are comfortable and each bunk has a storage pocket, reading light and some plugs, as well as a locker underneath the beds. The view from the room is also pretty spectacular. I felt spoilt!

I could go on forever about the things I love about this place, but I think you should just experience it for yourself because it truly is the best.

So yeah... I guess I'd stay again..

Room Tip: 5 bed female dorm with ensuite is the winner!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my friends and had a great time! Each bunk had its own light, side pocket, and 2x power sockets and 2x USB sockets too, as well as a decent amount of cupboard storage under the bunks. Staff were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and there was fast (and free) wifi. Had a good sleep too which is always a bonus :)
Will definietly stay here again and recommend to anyone going to Queenstown

I think a previous reviewer noted that it's almost like the owners took everything wrong with other hostels and fixed it. This is fairly accurate! Our private room was well decorated, with a heating and AC unit we could control. The windows over the bed were fairly drafty unfortunately - thought this seems to be common in New Zealand. Carpet was a bit worn but not enough to be an issue. Mini fridge in our room. Enough plugs in the room to be useful. Doors open onto a shared patio. Bathroom had a function exhaust fan - a key missing feature from the place we were at before. Small but nice TV with a BluRay player had Netflix app and could read movies off USB. The LOTR and Hobbit trilogies were available on BR from the front desk. Roast chicken dinner on Sunday smelled amazing but we opted not to partake as we were not hungry enough. Lounge was quite busy when we were getting the tour which I found daunting since we were in the mood for quiet but I imagine it would be a boon to those feeling social. Kitchen doors unlock at 5:30AM which is handy if you are booked on an early tour such as the Milford Sound tours. Kitchen was large and well equipped but I expect busier at other times! Would definitely stay here again.

I had a great time staying here. The staff were so friendly and easy going and made you feel so welcome. It feels very homely when you are there with a good sized lounge and kitchen to socialize in. There was an event happening nearly every night to join in and meet new people. I very much recommend the Sunday roast dinner, it is divine.

I had a brilliant stay in Adventure Queenstown! Excellent location, as it was close to the main pick up points for lots of the tours and activities and the bus to/from the airport. It had very comfy beds, great showers and helpful staff. Worth a visit!
