We popped in for a bite to eat after movies at The Palms. They had a $15 burger special on and seeing as I love burgers, I was tempted, but this time opted to go for something else instead. He had the steak and I chose the lamb rump. The place was pretty busy for a Sunday night, a good mix of people, some just having a drink at the bar, and families and friends catching up in the dining area. Our food did seem to take a long time to arrive, but we put that down to the busyness of the restaurant that evening. When it arrived though we were both happy with our meals. My lamb was lovely and tender, cutting it was like a hot knife through butter and I enjoyed the kumara mash under it. I would say that there was perhaps a little too much jus, and my green beans were cooked longer than I like, but other than that I was very pleased with my choice. The steak was equally as good, a very generous portion of meat and cooked just as ordered, with no grizzle or fatty bits that you quite often get with steak and chips but perhaps there could have been a bit more gravy drizzled over. We were offered the desert menu, but we had no room, perhaps another time.

Came here for a drink and a good pub meal. Went or the bangers and mash over the Guinness pie and wasn't disappointed very good and tasty. Also the special of the day which was steak chips and salad all for $15. What great value for money these days and was a good steak very. Would defiantly come back again if in the area on another trip.

Stopped here for a quick lunch with the girlfriend on a quiet Saturday. Quick service, nice food and felt like a real bar/restaurant. It didn't really have anything unique about it though, you get exactly what you expect.
