Old Saint Mary's Convent is so good we keep returning every two years. It is a complete package - with private grounds, luxurious accommodation, delicious breakfasts, home grown apples & pears plus fantastic wine from their vineyard. An absolute must in your travel calendar. We prefer to keep going back to Old Saint Mary's Convent rather than explore other places in the world. We absolutely love it and are treated like family.

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic, and each are a very different. We prefer the Chapel Suite as it is bigger with a large lounge room, plus stained glass windows as it used to be the Chapel when it was a Convent.

15 years ago we stayed at Old Saint Mary's and loved it. We recently returned with our two children, and found it to be even more charming and romantic. The new owner and manager made us feel like family. The food was fabulous, the rooms terrific, and the property is even better now that a pool has been added. As others have said, it is expensive but worth it. We can't wait to return

Thank you for your lovely comments, and so nice to see return guests come back and see what changes have been made over the years, and to bring your children back as well. We hope that you return again in the future and still feel it is the highlight of your NZ trip!

Beautiful property and first class treatment. The owner and manager both made sure we had a great stay. The manager is also the cook and she makes a great breakfast. The location is near a lot of great wineries.

This lovely B and B sits amidst the vineyards of the Marlborough region. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and filled with lavender, white roses and pots of climbers. It has been carefully restored to a patina of old wood with careful attention to modern amenities. Rooms are spotless and charming with access to a stocked beverage refrigerator and fresh coffee. There is a small chapel, ideal for destination events. Bicycles are available for loan and there is also a swimming pool with robes and towels for guest use. Our hosts were warmly hospitable. Breakfasts were delicious and featured local eggs, produce and pastries. We hated to leave!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are desirable!

A very special place with friendly hosts who expertly encourage a weekend house party atmosphere. The room was excellent and the wine made from grapes on the estate! The gardens are lovely. We borrowed bikes and cycled to the local wine and food festival.
