Fantastic stay at The Oasis. The lady at the reception was very friendly and inviting and made sure to advise of extra things they could help with and the fact that they were still contactable after reception closed by calling an additional number. The private spa was fantastic, the thermal swimming pool was blissful even our 4 month old baby loved the pool (her first swim ever) There were baby sitting services available, a list of activities we could try, tennis court, gym and restaurants on either side of the resort.
Our room was a little dark but warm as the receptionist had turned the heat for us ahead of arrival but most of all comfortable for the 3 of us that was the main thing.
The only thing we didn't like was out of nowhere appeared a bunch of ants on the wall.
THE VIEW - the view from our room was absolutely breath taking being right on the water from we sat out and watched the sun set, walked along the little jetty and went down to the lake shore where the water was hot from the thermal spot.

If we had more time to stay we most definitely would have as it was bliss. The next time we return to NZ it will be solely for the purpose of staying at the Oasis Resort in Taupo as everything was great inc the cost.

Room Tip: Lake front studios have amazing views.

The sunset views were incredible as were the views in general, but super outdated place and basic amenities. Court side room was more up to date than the waterfront views! (unfortunately our shower only had hot water and was basically unusable for this reason)
Heated pool was great

The motel sits right on the shores of Lake Taupo at the Southern end of town a couple of minutes drive from the main shopping dining centre. We stayed in a lakeside unit which was very quiet (as opposed to the poolside units). The pool is thermal heated warm enough to swim in winter time. The room had a small kitchenette but overall was dated. However the unit is clean tidy and comfortable, the service was very good.

This hotel has a great uninterrupted view of Lake Taupo. However our room was very overrated for what it was. After looking at pictures online and reviews, we were surprised and confused when our apartment was dark, dingy, and outdated. For the price, it needs to be updated asap! Beds were uncomfortable, and the smallest beds I have ever seen, tough to sleep in! No overhead lighting was also really difficult because lamps and fixtures weren't bright enough to see what you were doing in the small bedroom! A little disappointed.

Okay hotel on lake taupo. Some rooms are loud from the traffic driving by. Room was clean and the kitchen was nice. The location was good, a little far from downtown but walkable. Nice front desk. Free wifi
