Dunrovin is an older motel that is still very functional. The management are awesome! They even went into town on a special trip just to get us some hot chocolate.
The room, while small by modern standard, had everything we needed for 5 of us. The beds were appropriate and comfortable.
The room was clean and well presented.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Very friendly staff and a good location, about 5-10 min walk to restaurants. However, a concrete floor sleeps better than the beds and the rooms are quite noisy (you hear your neighbours very well). Furniture and rooms are outdated, needs an upgrade.

Good for my one night stay in this older Motel. Everything you need in one compact unit. Grateful for electric fan on a really hot day. Bed comfortable, good stove top etc.
Helpful Manager when checking in. Easy walking distance to township.

Room tip: Unit 2 is sandwiched between 2 other units and not that private. Get one on an end perhaps.

If you're looking for somewhere central in Taupo, but away from the traffic noise, Dunrovin Motel is the place for you. Within easy walking distance of the bars, restaurants and supermarkets, everything you need is right on hand. Tidy unit, very comfortable bed, quiet and restful location and kind host - we'll definitely be back.

We loved the little unit so much from the minute we saw it, it was just perfect for what we wanted.
As we always take our pampered pooches with us on holiday we look for 'pet friendly' places. The unit we were allocated had a pretty little garden with parking next to it...and had a lovely Tui chattering in a nearby tree!
It also had a handy clothes line nearby for drying wet clothes after our adventures on the lake.
The shower room was a bit dated but very clean as was the rest of the unit and the price was very reasonable.
We'll certainly be making this place our regular motel when we visit beautiful Taupo again.
