Food was amazing, people amazing and passionate, the village was as beautiful and the rain made it even better in my opinion.

The only problem I had was the weirdly made video at the start before you go on the bus. The narrative was interesting, it was how ever the weird mix of high definition photos and videos with old outdated computer generated images and other low resolution images.
From the gathering place to the village and back again, the event was informative and well organized. Food was delicious. All staff were knowledgeable and entertaining performers.
The hosts and everyone involved are wonderful people. Made everyone felt welcomed and we learned a lot about Maori’s culture and history. Great dinner buffet after one of the best cultural performance we’ve ever experienced. Will recommend for everyone young and old.

Really enjoyed this experience! Starts off at the gathering place where background information around the Māori culture is given. Next we are taken to the village by bus, where on arrival, we are met by warriors and their chief doing the welcoming ceremony. Such a great start to an experience as straight away you get immersed into the māori culture. Once the ceremony is finished, there is the opportunity to explore the village- there are various areas with different activities which are then explained by one of the tribes people. I cannot praise these people enough as it was absolutely freezing and still wore smiles on their faces and were happy to answer any questions!!!
We were then shown how our evening meal was cooked, which was interesting!
The entertainment was incredible!! Traditional and contemporary māori music, dances and songs were shared.
Such an amazing experience which I would definitely recommend to anyone!!!
