Don't expect one of the countless falls you can find in NZ. It's a small one. But it has its magic. We could spend a moment there, sitting and enjoying the view and the coolness of the water after a hot day walking in the area. There is a walk to do too

Just a short drive from Paihia and what was best only a short walk from carpark. Quite a spectacular waterfall. When we were there a young couple were kayaking around the base of the falls which was fun to watch. Worth taking a look at if in the area.

We stopped here on a day trip out of Russell and Paihia and the best thing that can be said for these falls is that it takes very little time to visit.
The Falls are only a short diversion off the main drive, and just metres away from where you park your car, so, can be seen in about 10-15 minutes if passing.
But they are very modest - only a few metres high, and the day we were there were filthy, and smelled appalling, due to a heavy downpour the night before which seems only to have washed farmland and farm waste into the falls.
Probably worth the short diversion, definitely not worth a special trip - for that head to Rainbow Falls, which are much, much more impressive

Quite a cute little waterfall that if you’re driving in the area is worth a quick stop. Don’t go out of your way.

We where here 5 years ago and the car park has not changed - very poorly kept with large holes everywhere and hard to avoid. It's time you put some effort in - I believe this land and falls belong to Waitangi/Ngai Tahu? A local keeps the track clear - we met him very nice chap. Also across the river looking again out onto the falls a wasp nest you should erradicate.
Lovely falls, enjoyed the walking track and scenery, easy to get to.

Kiwi tourist seeing own country.
