The view. It’s all about the view.

OK it was up a few steps to get to our cabin, but with a glass of wine on the decking overlooking the Bay of Islands it was nothing for a priceless view.

The accommodation itself was spacious, modern and super clean with all you want for a comfortable stay.

The location is fab as you can leave your car and just walk down to the jetty where all the trips depart from. A real bonus when parking is tight and paid for.

The hosts are great – warm and friendly – with great advice on trips and journeys.

Warmly recommended.

Stayed 3 nights here. I selected it for the view over Paihia and the bay. Villa 4 had a view from the balcony and kitchen and also was more private than some of the villas. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and clean. Full service not provided eg making beds, towels changed each day and rubbish removed only. The inside of the cabin could be described as cosy. Ceiling fan over bed was welcome due to the warm weather. The second bedroom was very small indeed and would be rather hot in summer. People who have trouble climbing steps may find this place a challenge. I enjoyed my stay here however at NZ $193 per night peak season I was probably paying for the view.

The cabins are centrally located in Pahia, some have views of the sea ours you had to be tall & stretch your neck. The cabins get very hot in summer, the large ceiling fan helps but a/c would be better. If you leave the windows & sliding door open to get a breeze blowing through also helps but your then exposed to the bugs, flies and spiders. A fly spray was provided in the cabin we had but we used that on the invasion of ants. If you leave any trace of food outside of the fridge be prepared for the ants. The wifi is not good, zebo vouchers are readily provided , but when there are plenty of visitors it's slow and often needs reconnecting. The daily maintenance consists of changing towels & replenishing coffee & that's it.
On a positive side the washing machine worked well & with hot weather plenty of space for hanging washing out.

Room Tip: Be prepared for uncomfortable nights in hot weather

A little home away from home. Cant fault this place. Friendly greeting, immaculate room, very quiet, great views, good sleep on comfy bed. This place was recommended to us i am now recommending to you. A few stairs to the indivual cabins on side of hill so elderely may need a hand to get cases up and down. Laundry on site.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view i requested a seaview.

Had pre booked two cabins with sea views as part of a road trip around North Island so unsure what to expect. " no worries" it was brilliant - modern yet quirky beautifully clean and really well appointed with microwave, toaster, kettle , fridge and loads of crockery etc. Not "serviced" but bins emptied, beverages replenished and towels changed daily. Sea views were amazing especially eating breakfast on the verandah. Only drawback were the flights of stairs to access the higher cabins but as these had the best views was well worth the effort. Not so good for anyone with limited mobility.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view but only if you can manage several flights of stairs easily
