“WONDERFUL 'HISTORY' TOUR”
Reviewed 12 December 2011

Host and wife were extremely gracious and delightful, and our time felt far too short on this well planned overview of their North Island of New Zealand attractions.Well appreciated.

Kia ora!
Many thanks for your kind words here on TA.
Although the 130-odd years “history” of our farm & Homestead definitely cannot compare to things in other countries, we are glad you found our stories, photos & artifacts during that part of this tour interesting.
Indeed, we feel having us as local residents explain first-hand experiences about the region you are touring, just seems to knit things together on a much more personal level than hearing someone speaking merely as a “tour guide”.
Sometimes we do wonder though, whether there are too many things to do in our little husband & wife tour (!?!), so thanks for the feedback that you say our operation is well planned.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page, as we have lots of updates, stories and videos about our animals, farm, and Muriwai region we call home!
All the best, and for the New Year too,
Donna + Stu

Kia ora,
Not only are we so pleased that you looked past the price factor and took the plunge to do our tour, but that you have actually stated this apprehension in your review. We cannot thank you enough for bringing it up so that others can read that you regard our tour was in fact "worth every penny".
Of course, all explanations regarding a tour is ho-hum coming from the owner’s!!, but can we just say that one of the biggest factors (for our visitors) is that they do not have to travel any further than 40 minutes from Downtown to do all the experiences on our “all-inclusive” tours. For someone on limited time, (e.g. off a Cruise Boat), this surely has to be worth something too.
Again, thank you for raising a “controversial” topic which is ever present in the world’s economic situation today,
Best regards,
Donna + Stu.

“So friendly and great experience of eco tour in Auckland”
Reviewed 26 November 2011

After reading all the positive review in Tripadvisor regarding Coast to Coast Tours, I immediately contacted them, and I got the reply from Donna shortly. I booked the tour for 4th of Nov 2011. Stuart came to our hotel around 9:00 AM in the morning, earlier than our appointment (9:15 AM)......very nice first impression for me, I like the people who keep the appointment schedule. We went to outside Auckland, visited several place as mentioned in the tour itinerary. All the placed we visited are great and memorable for me and my wife. The most memorable activity was Stuart & Donna home visit in their farmland....so peaceful home....!!! and Donna gave us very delicious New Zealand dessert.... I strongly recommend to all of you who want to visit Auckland to go with Coast to Coast tours....and you will experience the great things of your tour....Thanks to all reviewer in tripadvisory for their recommendation about coast to coast tours, based on your review I and my wife selected Coast to Coast, and as I wrote in my review, GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!......

Dear Budi_Priyono,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
It is interesting, the feedback we receive, (and your comments confirm again), is that travelers are strongly basing their tour choices from the TA reviews they are reading about our tour’s itinerary. We say “Thanks” for choosing our little tour!
We are happy to know that you enjoyed the afternoon tea Tasting Platter; (lamb, kumara, sheep’s milk cheeses, my Homemade preserves, Hokey Pokey ice-cream, and of course the Pavlova & kiwifruits), all of which are iconic “Tastes of NZ”.
It was great that you came to Auckland, and we feel honoured that we were able to show you around and have you come into our home.
Nga mihi nui,
All the very best for your future together!
- Donna + Stu.

“Great "Big Picture" in One Day”
Reviewed 23 November 2011

We (retired couple) really enjoyed our day with Stu and Donna. This was our first visit to NZ, and we felt like we got a really good "big picture" of the various cultures of the area; the spectacular geography, plants, and animals; food and wine; and finally a personal insight into the lives of these two wise, caring, energetic people. We saw gannets (sea birds) nesting on rock ledges over the ocean; we discovered some great local wines at a private tasting (we bought several bottles in the $10 range); we learned tons of interesting tidbits about Kiwis (people); we had a REALLY fine lunch; and then we relaxed with Stu and Donna at home. I got some great videos of their dogs working the sheep, and we bottle-fed some lambs. My wife led Boo, the family "pet" sheep, around the farm with us on his leash! Thanks for the great experience and memories.

Oops…our apology for this late reply to your review! (which appears to have been somehow back-dated).
Many thanks for writing in. We had a great day hosting you all, and we are pleased to hear you had an enjoyable day too. Our sheep ‘BooBoo’ is a character, and she does enjoy going for walks!…(a different take on dog-walking, for sure!!). Hopefully, if the weather is fine, we will be able to do the annual shearing of our sheep, so the woolshed will be a much busier place from when you all saw it that day!
Thanks so much for choosing our “little” locally operated tour to give you a “Great Big Picture” of our sheep farm and the surrounding region.
Take care and best wishes to everyone for the Holiday Season too,
Regards,
Donna + Stu.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 19 November 2011

This was a fantastic day! I was fortunate to be on the tour with a father and daughter from Texas and daughter and her parents from Malaysia. I was picked up at the hotel on time and the day was jam packed and wonderful. We saw the rainforest, visited and sampled wines at a winery, went to an authentic New Zealand craft place, visited a black beach and saw nesting Gannets and then went back to the home of the tour owners. They live on a wonderful New Zealand farm. We were welcomed into their home, sampled native food and food from their farm in addition to feeding lambs with bottles and we even got to hold a 2 day old baby lamb. The owners were wonderful! Our group got to pick a native plant that would be planted on the farm with our chosen number on it. Thank you Donna and Stu for a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend any tour put on by Coast 2 Coast!

Hello,
Many thanks for your prompt review and very detailed account of your tour with us.
Yes, our tour is “jam packed” with all the experiences within an unbelievable 40 minutes from Downtown (so there’s very little traveling and there’s not much walking either!).
Local operation is key to our business;…it’s well documented that this is a major constituent in truly operating in an environmentally-friendly and sustainable manner. The tree planting in our own farm’s Carbon Credit Reserves (one tree for every tour we run where our guests become the “owner’s” of the tree!), means our visitor’s actually “get something” to make their tour Carbon Neutral (rather than just having the offset fee passed-on in their tour price).
It was so good that you were able to join us, and we hope the rest of the Conference went well.
With best regards,
Donna + Stu.
