We dined on a Wednesday night and booked for 7. We had just the most brilliant service and fantastic food / drinks. The owners / host are funny, humble and wonderful. The 3 kids were entertained and joked with as well as having their drinks / deserts all catered to brilliantly. The quality, and quantity, of the food food was truly wonderful - one of the best places I've been to.

We enjoyed a delightful lunch at Parnell149. This restaurant was filled with local residents and offered an exceptional value. The fresh snapper was wonderful and served with a simple yet delicious salad. It is worth taking a look at the dessert menu.

Our friends suggested Parnell 149 for lunch. We were not disappointed. We'd seen Parnell 149 offered a $20 set lunch which seemed a good deal. Our party of four were warmly greeted and soon seated. Parnell 149 is quite narrow - one table each side of the central aisle so quite private i.e. not having to listen to the next table's conversation. Menu comprised garlic bread (one of our party "never eats garlic bread" but succumbed when the GB arrived - it was beautifully light and crisp), several main course choices plus a glass of wine, beer or fruit juice. Two of us had fish and the others chicken breast but, of course, that was not all that was on offer! Bluff Oysters were available at additional cost so we had a dozen to share - 6 natural and 6 battered. Oysters were big and meaty and enjoyed by all. Our main meals were beautifully cooked and presented. Dessert Menu was offered (at additional cost) but everyone opted for coffee. By the time we had finished our meal, the restaurant was nearly full which is surprising given it was mid week so Parnell 149 is obviously, and deservedly, popular. We'll definitely revisit Parnell 149 next time we visit Auckland

this is one restaurant that might not be way up there in terms of ranking, but, deserves a 5 star rating.

We were a party of 13 with small children when we had lunch at Parnell 149. My mother in law is a regular and she mentioned that the place offers lunch sets with a glass of wine. I found, that, the lunch set selection was well curated. They even made a vegetarian lunch set for my mother in law who was vegetarian for that day for religious reasons.

From start to finish, the service was friendly. There were no misses with the meals, only hits.

We ended our meals with cheesecake, and a Belgian chocolate panna cotta, plus coffee for some people in our group.

I personally had the pork belly, which was beautiful, and the Belgian chocolate panna cotta- a silky bittersweet experience not to be missed.
