“Quite an experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2012

We found Vue De Monde on Tripadvisor and thought when visiting Melbourne we best go! From the moment we entered the building we felt special, we were greeted and confirmed our booking and then the lift was called for us. The entrance was beautiful once we arrived upstairs. We were again greeted by two friendly staff members and shown to our table - the view was amazing. The tables were spaced well, we couldn't hear other peoples conversations which was a welcome change. The waitress recommended the 10 course degustation and we agreed. They were flexible in that I said i didn't eat seafood and they adjusted my menu to suit. Each course a different chef came out and explained the meal. I think that was a nice personal touch. As fancy as the restaurant is, it is also relaxed. Some courses were served up on logs of wood and our steak knives stood up in stones etc. Some quirky touches. We couldn't fault the food - so much variety - kangaroo, wagu, ox tongue, duck, pigeon! The deserts were amazing. We were glad we went with the 10 course menu as it was an experience but choosing your own dish would be nice too. I would go back, I think the experience is well worth it!

“Excellent dining experience - well worth its 3 hats!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

I was lucky enough to be able to experience Vue de Monde as part of a Business Development session. I had heard (but then again who hasn't heard of Vue?!) very good things about the place and I wasn't disappointed.
For those of you who've seen the first Die Hard, remember when John McClane walks out of the lift and he sees all the guests on an open plan floor with a bar in the middle, this is how I felt when I got out of the lift on the 55th floor and entered Vue. The interior is very well decorated - the colour of the walls, flooboard and table spreads blend well together. There are also comfy couches for you to sit back, relax and have a drink. The view is awesome. We went at lunch time so I can only imagine how beautiful it must be at night time having dinner and overlooking the Rod Laver Arena, The MCG and Olympic Park, the Yarra river Bridge and Crown Casino.
The staff were very friendly and nice; and the food was brilliant. I had the Classically inspired truffle risotto ahead of the Confit duck, pear, walnuts, Witlof salad for entree. As main, I chose the Pan-fried baby snapper with poached crayfish & fennel salad.

Vue is pricey yes and it should be for a restaurant of its standard but it is a truly fabulous experience which you will not regret!

“Fabulous”

Vue de monde is an experience not to be missed. The food is like a work of art. The location and view is much better then their previous location and makes the experience even better. Expensive? Yes. But a must do for all foodies.
