We found Vue De Monde on Tripadvisor and thought when visiting Melbourne we best go! From the moment we entered the building we felt special, we were greeted and confirmed our booking and then the lift was called for us. The entrance was beautiful once we arrived upstairs. We were again greeted by two friendly staff members and shown to our table - the view was amazing. The tables were spaced well, we couldn't hear other peoples conversations which was a welcome change. The waitress recommended the 10 course degustation and we agreed. They were flexible in that I said i didn't eat seafood and they adjusted my menu to suit. Each course a different chef came out and explained the meal. I think that was a nice personal touch. As fancy as the restaurant is, it is also relaxed. Some courses were served up on logs of wood and our steak knives stood up in stones etc. Some quirky touches. We couldn't fault the food - so much variety - kangaroo, wagu, ox tongue, duck, pigeon! The deserts were amazing. We were glad we went with the 10 course menu as it was an experience but choosing your own dish would be nice too. I would go back, I think the experience is well worth it!
