Traditional Scottish black pudding, haggis, square sausage and potato scones.

Staff are very friendly - what you would expect from Scots.

Although this is tucked away in Highlander Lane, between Flinders, Kings and Flinders Lane get there early if you want a table.

In a nutshell it was a really pleasant experience.

The staff, in our case, a Scottish (lass) lady behind the bar was super friendly and bubbly and welcoming. The accent helped too!! Knowledgeable about the food AND the beers!

Food...Fat B@stard (getting past tripadvisor filter sorry) and the Braveheart followed by the Marsbar dessert. Both burgers were delicious but the Braveheart with the Haggis was absolutely spot on!! Had a zingy spice to it that was hard to go past. Chips...thin but still nice.

Decor was a bit dated but not too bad to look past this.

Realistically the only issue we had was there was no roaring fireplace...or warm as far as temperature in the room. Given it was a cold winters day we visited this was the only thing we found lacking.

Otherwise a great place to relax in if you don't want a bustling crowd. Only reason for 4 star!

Was in the city today for a meeting at the bottom of King Street and the guys took me to lunch at this bar. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised with the burger and a beer lunch special

I got the Highlander Burger, a classic cheese burger with a generous sized wagu beef patty and briosh rolls.

I've been looking for the best burger in Melbourne ever since Barney Allens in St Kilda changed owners and this is a top contender.

Cheers!

We went here because I had a birthday coupon. The food is pretty decent, although not many options if you're a vegetarian. If you're a vegetarian though, I recommend the cauliflower frittatas. The bartender wasn't the friendliest, the only complaint I have.

Went to the bar for a comedy festival show. Bar is traditional U.K. style with great Scottish fare - haggis included. Evening was made uncomfortable by the owner who was off her head drunk, loud and obnoxious. Also comedy show was cancelled due to technical problems which was fine but we were waiting downstairs and only found out by venturing upstairs past the "wait here" sign. Pretty sure we'd have been waiting all night if we hadn't gone up to find out for ourselves. Shambles and a waste of an evening having dragged ourselves into the CBD from the burbs. Won't be going back.....
