“Good place for an Aussie Rules Footy experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

This stadium is fairly new and undercover most of the time, as the roof can be closed. This means it is warmer and drier than the MCG to view footy, but does not have quite the same atmosphere. The stadium is new so the facilities are modern and clean. The stadium is at the bottom end of the city, but there is a tram stop right outside. Or, you can get off at Spencer Street station and walk over the pedestrian foot bridge. Tickets can be bought online or at the gate. It pays to pay extra for a good seat. We went to the St Kilda v Gold Coast game on Easter Sunday. We bought tickets online for about $50.00 each and were four rows from the fence. You could hear every crunch and hit! Worth a trip if you want to catch a footy game when in Melbourne.

“Out of the rain”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

Great stadium for Australian football. Good views from nearly all seats and great facilities. You don't have to worry about the weather because the roof gets closed for rain. Take a train or walk from the city to get there as Docklands traffic jams badly after a big game. Still, note quite as good as sitting with 80,000 others at the MCG and not as good as the MCG for gluten-free pies.

“Footy”

Too far away from the action unless you pay to be a club member. Can't sit with friends and food too expensive

“Great atmosphere!”

Great to go and watch a footy game. Not as great for a concert as the people on stage look like ants.

“Lacks the passion and emotion”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

I love coming to Melbourne for my Aussie rules football, but this stadium leaves me a little cold.
Although I have an AFL members ticket, I am always told that I have to sit in the top section and it feels so far from the game that I feel that I should have stayed at home and watched it on tv.
In the finals last year I bought a dining package and just stayed in the dining room with a few friends, enjoyed a few wines and watched it on tv.
It was probably the best time I have had at the stAfium.
