This stadium is fairly new and undercover most of the time, as the roof can be closed. This means it is warmer and drier than the MCG to view footy, but does not have quite the same atmosphere. The stadium is new so the facilities are modern and clean. The stadium is at the bottom end of the city, but there is a tram stop right outside. Or, you can get off at Spencer Street station and walk over the pedestrian foot bridge. Tickets can be bought online or at the gate. It pays to pay extra for a good seat. We went to the St Kilda v Gold Coast game on Easter Sunday. We bought tickets online for about $50.00 each and were four rows from the fence. You could hear every crunch and hit! Worth a trip if you want to catch a footy game when in Melbourne.
