“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed 23 September 2012 via mobile

This is the second time I've stayed here. It doesn't look much from the front door, but don't be fooled. The rooms I've had here have been as good as some five star hotels I've stated in... The rooms are not the biggest rooms but well appointed, very nice and the price is reasonable. The staff have always been really helpful and friendly.

Had everything we needed for one nights stay before leaving for the airport early the next morning. Comfortable bed, helpful staff, clean bathroom. Very much a "hotel" if you know what I mean. I wouldn't want to stay there for long period of time. I am more of the B&B type for comfort, good food, and peace. But it was very nice. Modern, which was kinda cool. Located 5 min walk from the water.

We booked a room here when a third party website had an amazing sale & we got a room here for $12! As locals we didn’t hesitate to experience a newer hotel that we hadn’t heard too much about and we certainly enjoyed our night as a treat! When we checked in we commented how lucky we felt to be getting a room there for such a great price, they agreed! Our room was on the 6th floor with floor to ceiling windows offering a great view of the city and Mount Wellington. On walking in the door the good sized bathroom was to the left with a double walk in shower and good amenities supplied. The bathroom was spotless and modern. The room design is clever that if sharing the room the bed is positioned around the corner from the entrance and bathroom door so the movement and light wouldn’t disturb the other person during the night. The king bed was as comfortable as it looked! There was a good little mini bar supplied, tea & coffee making facilities and really this room was faultless. We parked our car on the street after the meter hours finished and we checked out early before meters started in the morning so didn’t need to park it in the car park. Excellent room, very clean, and position is great in the city.

This modern boutique hotel is well located near most of the tourist haunts and shopping precinct. It is rather noisy though being across the road from the hospital and while parking is available nearby one has to pay for it! The rooms are very small with little storage. We also found it quite cold and could have done with such extra blankets! The bathroom is quite outdated and could take on a major refurbishment. If you are looking to chill in front of the TV - bring some binoculars as the TV is veryyyy small!! The breakfast while nice was reasonably expensive for what was on offer and a continental optioon would have been OK. But as a convenient relative inexpensive hotel I would stay again.

Room Tip: Not on Collins St!

Have stayed here before, but not on a Friday and Saturday. Loud from 11.30 until 2.30 am both nights. Someone has a nightclub nearby and it is loud. 10th floor on southwest corner. Otherwise as advertised. Maybe someone will do something about it, who knows, is / would be a deal breaker for me, I won't be back. Perhaps ask staff for a room that does not get the noise or ask if it is still a problem.
