Good central location, walk everywhere. Apartments are privately owned so each different. Our experience.... huge two bedroom A /C (worked beautifully) apartment overlooking cityscape and sea towards Magnetic Island, lovely. Big balcony with outdoor furniture, too hot to enjoy though, not a criticism, just not acustomed to the heat. Basic furnishings that could do with a good deep clean.....lounge, carpets, walls etc. Most of all though, absolutely need blackout curtains in bedrooms, no fun waking up at first light 5.00am, 10 days in a row when you're supposed to be on holidays.

Room Tip: request high room looking east. OH and a room with bockout curtains in bedrooms!

Great apartment. Great value for money. Sensational views out to Magnetic Island. Bit of road noise when sliding doors open but not at all bad. Hot water takes forever to come through and I feel bad for wasting so much water waiting. Very clean. Great air con. Safe parking. Booking process was exceptional.

We had a great time at these apartments. Our stay started with an early check in as we had moved from another motel. Upon arrival after contacting the manager by phone (as this place is super secure and without a key you can not enter this building)we were greeted with the manager who provided us with keys. Although there is a little walk from carpark to units the carpark is clean and well lit. We were in room 1104 and would definately request this room again as it had everything we needed. Only wished we stayed longer. The pool area is very inviting and the gardens surrounding the roof top pool were well maintained.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with our daughter and son-in-law and couldn't have been happier. We were lucky to get one that had the most beautiful view of Magnetic Island. Added to this, there is a huge balcony complete with outdoor furniture to enjoy the view from.

The apartments are very spacious. The main bedroom is huge and the ensuite the size of a bedroom. Both bathrooms had full bathtubs, the ensuite with a large walk in shower and the other bathroom with a shower over the bathtub. Both bathrooms have lots of floor space.

The living/dining/kitchen is large and very comfortable with nice furniture. The apartments are individually owned so the decor quality might change but we were happy with the furnishings in ours. A very large comfortable modular lounge setting with matching dining setting looked lovely.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. There were lots of pots and cooking utensils which are often not found in self contained apartments.

There is also a separate, large laundry which contains a front loader washer and dryer, all a bonus as we had a small baby with us.

The apartments don't supply free wifi, probably because it is a high cost to the individual owners. However we got a good signal with Telstra Air and as we have joined we were able to use this. You can also use Telstra Air at a cost.

We found the manager very friendly and helpful. A lot of people have complained about the two lifts, but even with a baby we didn't find this an issue as the distance between is not great.

The apartments are in a great position in Townsville, very close to the city, Castle Hill or the ferries. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartments, especially for two couples.

An added bonus is the lovely and very reasonably priced Denham St Cafe downstairs.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Denham St side have great views to Magnetic Island.

You receive a full page letter with instructions which tells you to come to the corner of Dalgety and Walker St - which might be ok if you have a car because near here is the garage door. However , we came by cab from the airport and if I was told go to 160 Dalgety St which is the front entrance where normal people go - I could have left my 80 year old Mum in comfort with our cases while I tried to work out the entry to the building through the subterranean car park. Where there was no signage - perhaps a simple "Lift to apartments this way" might have been helpful. Instead we went to the first lift we saw - don't be fooled - this isn't the right one but you would never know - again no signage. We were rescued by someone who appeared as we were about to get into the wrong lift - didn't introduce herself and didn't appreciate me saying that signage would be helpful. Disappeared into an office which is completely sealed off with opaque glass! How very welcoming - not!
Then find your way to the apartment - not so bad. More disappointment there. Despite the great view and large rooms. This apartment is so sparsely furnished and appointed that only one of the two bedrooms has a lamp. Neither bedroom has anywhere to put your suitcase, no water in an empty jug in the fridge, no ice tray so couldn't even make ice blocks, no plug for the bath in the ensuite. Surely someone would check these basics? What are managers and housekeepers paid to do? The apartment was not clean, filthy stains on the carpets in two rooms and curtain rail coming off in the lounge room. Outdoor furniture filthy too. Pool recliner fabric split and not safe or even useable. Shame on you charging us $150 for the "pleasure". What a joke! We will be putting in a formal complaint to the owners. Don't stay here. Should have gone back to the Grand Apartments where I've stayed before - comparison.
