Did a last minute deal for our room which was excellent. Two double beds, in good condition, ocean views and joy oh joy the option of turning off the aircon! We had fresh sea air & the rolling waves making us delighted we had chosen Crown Plaza. The tea & coffee facilities were an unexpected bonus. Plenty of good parking.

My Husband and I stayed here for our anniversary, we booked a bit last minute and had trouble finding decent affordable places due to it being indy weekend. Check-in was easy, the parking is great, plenty of parks and easy walk to the lifts. The room was great, spacious, great big bathroom, nice and light with floor to ceiling windows, and an amazing view out to the ocean. The balcony was interesting, just wide enought to fit 2 chairs facing each other and a small table, but it was still great to have to look out at the view. The staff were a little slow at assisting, however I think this was due to how busy it had been with the indy happening. All in all however a great weekend!

Check in was efficient and staff were helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. The staff were pleasant and efficient. It is an older hotel but still quite pleasant.

I normally love staying here but my latest stay has me looking for an alternative for my next trip to the Gold Coast.
Check-in was efficient and the staff were really nice and helpful.
We were on the 3rd floor, perhaps the lower you stay the lower the standards of cleanliness are. After reading a review on here about checking towels, I thought I'd amuse myself and do just that after showering-I'm glad I did because there were stains on the towel. For a hotel this size I doubt it is that hard to replace A towel.
When we returned the next afternoon, it was almost as if there was no effort put into the bathroom. You know how you walk in after housekeeping has been and you can tell towels have been changed and toiletries replaced? It looked like they had grabbed the new stuff and just chucked it down.
After sitting in the room for about 15mins we noticed a trail of ants marching across one of the double beds, so after squashing them(and leaving them so housekeeping could see them), we rang for them to come change the bed.
It was raining while we stayed here so never went on the balcony, which was good because it was really small.
Breakfast downstairs was alright, staff were great.
Room service was okay, efficient.

Many thanks for your review and I wish to extend my most sincere apologies for the problems which you experienced with the housekeeping standards in your room. Please rest assured I have followed up accordingly with my team.
I am very sorry this visit did not meet your expectations from your previous stays with us and I do hope you will give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves at some time in the future.

Stayed in the Gold Tower for a couple of days for business.

The Room
Lot of space, with a separate toilet. Clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable. Direct view on the Coral Sea from the balcony. No free internet connection, it's actually pretty expensive. Wired and wireless connections are on different price plans.

The Location
Not far from the beach, however not central location. No restaurants within walking distance, but free underground parking spaces.

Pleasantly surprised by:
- the view from the balcony, and the chairs inviting you to sit and enjoy for few minutes
- the back access of the hotel to a less busy street, bringing you closer to the beach

Unimpressed by:
- the unstaffed lobby, forcing you to check-in/check-out at the main tower
- the lack of fast checkout as bill is not slided under your door
