When we arrived at this property it was dark so it was difficult immediately to appreciate the property as the house does not have many outside lights in the front garden but when we got to the house and turned on the lights we were so pleased. The property is just like the pictures on their website. It is beautiful. Kerry was really helpful and ever since my first contact she was really attentive and always replied to my emails really quickly.
The house it literally on the edge of the rainforest. From the back veranda you look out on trees. We travelled in August and didn't see much wildlife apart from the nightly geckos, the odd small lizard and a resident shrub hen. Ants were regular visitors to the kitchen but they were not a real problem as long as you kept the surfaces clean and food free. The pool is a good size. I travelled with my family - 3 children, 22, 17 and 12 - all of them loved this house and if we were in Port Douglas again we would definitely look at staying there again. The house is about 10 -15 minutes from the town so a car is needed but the benefits of this is that you have peace and quiet while you are in the house - just the local's dogs and the sounds of the rainforest is all you will hear. Port Douglas town is really lovely and there are so many places to eat there. The house however has everything you need to cook meals and a very big BBQ too. A lovely house.
