My friend and I went on the Daintree Adventure Day tour and could not be more delighted with our experience. Backcountry Bliss was very accommodating – we chatted them up on their website asking to be picked up and dropped off from our accommodation in Palm Cove, and they got that taken care for us immediately. Jason, who drove us to and from Palm Cove, was very positive, conversational, and receptive to us (taking us to a nearby suburb to look for wallabies, and even stopping on the side of the road as we were making a phone call to avoid bad reception!).
Glenn, our main tour guide, was excellent. We had a small group (which was perfect) and kept the atmosphere friendly and interactive. On the drive, he demonstrated an incredible knowledge of the region, kept us comfortable with snacks, towels, bug spray, etc., and really tried to get to know us. This tour is not one of those "sit on a big bus with 30 other people and get chauffered place to place" kind of tours. We all got to know each other, and the drives to different locations which just as enjoyable as the locations themselves.
We felt like we got the most out of the Daintree Rainforest with this all-day tour, as we experienced it from the knowledge side (Glenn's wonderful commentary and bush walk), activity side (with the ziplining), observing side (wildlife cruise), relax side (refreshing, beautiful swim in a nearby watering hole after lunch!), and everything in between (delicious ice cream, short stops at lookouts).
I would recommend bug spray (though Glenn has tons) and some PawPaw ointment, because I definitely got bitten alive at the rainforest. A go-pro is recommended at the ziplining location! You can also take out your phone and do some amazing pics/videos while ziplining, the people working the zipline can slow the zipline down for you and they are very nice as well.
Overall amazing experience, truly a highlight for us while we were on break in the area.
