“A little piece of France in Cairns”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

We've dined at Cest Bon several times over the years - as a couple, in groups, girls lunches, etc - and the food is always authentic and beautifully presented with great flavours. The boys sometimes feel they could have had more to eat but I've found that's common when dining 'French' with strapping Aussie men :) ... Service is attentive and fits well with group dining where there is a lot of conversation; it can feel a little slow when you are just a couple. Overall a great restaurant for a special occassion and if you enjoy authentic French cuisine. The rabbit and salmon are my favourites...

“great food poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

My Husband and I went to C'est Bon restaurant for our 45th wedding anniversary, the service at first was quite ok till we were nearly finished our desert the food was very good but the head waitress I think she was a owner. We asked her if she could take a photo for us, she actually said she would but a party of six people came in and she just forgot about us was too busy trying to sell wine to the new party. We sat there for enother half hour justr waiting and were ignored. I was very upset with her attitude, we also had to go to the counter to pay for the dinner as they kept ignoring us when we wanted the check. I have told people the fdood was very nice but dont expect to be treated with courtesy and respect as the dollar means more than locals coming back. We were not tourists.

“Disappointed!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2012

The restaurant service leaves a lot to be desired from the last time we dined here in 2011.The service was rushed and at times very abrupt. Junelle certainly knew how to run a restaurant efficiently and with expertise. Although the food was okay it was lacking flavour, and presentation could have been better. The atmosphere would have been more enjoyable if the restaurant was full but being midweek when we dined it was a little quiet. Overall the food was nice, just not what it used to be!

“Food was fine, just the price not justified”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2012

Went here with a couple of girlfriends for a dinner before Christmas and was a bit underwhelmed with the menu and the food. The goats cheese tart for entree was just some cheese and a pile of rocket for example and the rabbit was just like a stew my grandmother would cook. Nothing fancy about this French place to warrant the prices though it did have a nice, home-cooked feel about it that would have been fine if it had been marketed differently i.e. as a little French bistro as opposed to a fine dining experience.
