We stayed 3 nights in a Pool View Room and was given the 4th Floor with a clear view of Pool area. Rooms and hotel have been beautifully refurbished and pool area is great. Our rooms were made up daily and replenished with clean pool towels every morning. The staff were excellent in any request and a great location near the centre of city and esplanade. We had a great weekend with no negatives from staff or room. Recommend it to anyone looking for a nice fresh clean hotel :)

We stayed at the Novotel Cairns Resort in August this year for a 4 day getaway. What a great location! Short walk to the shops, the esplanade, the pier, great reasturants. Rooms were a great size, beds comfortalbe, decor was nice and new since the refurbishment a couple of months ago. The pool was great, nice size, swim up bar, even had lunch down there around the pool one day which was good too. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definiatley stay there again! Try the Tha Fish reasturant down along the marina- one of the best meals we have EVER had!!!

Had two nights here in a second floor pool view room for which I paid an upgrade fee. Could just see the pool on an angle through the the palms and across the breakfast room awning. The balcony was so small as to be unusable and had no outdoor furniture. Unless you can guarantee an upper floor which is more centrally located over the pool, I think a high floor city / mountain view ,for which I was told there is no 'upgrade fee', is better value.
The room was OK - king bed was great, also the new plasma screen TV but could not understand why there were not two comfy chairs to sit in to have a cup of tea - just one small hard straight back non-padded desk chair and a strange cane saucer shaped object with pouffe in the corner. There is no small occasional table, so in-room dining is not really viable.
Service was pleasant but not prompt and servicing of room on second day was not done efficiently. . It took two phone calls and a wait of 45 minutes to get complimentary bathroom shampoo / conditioner plus tea / chocolate sachets replaced on the afternoon of the second day.
The best aspect of the hotel was the new Mizuna restaurant with its great new concept degustation-like buffet dinner. This assures a much more hygienic approach with freshly prepared individual portions that were constantly replenished. The food at dinner was excellent - innovative and healthy. The big negative here was that coffee was not included in the buffet price and cost $4 a cup for quite ordinary coffee that came from the same machine that all guests had open access to at breakfast. The waitress even apologized for having run out of 'sprinkles' when serving me this overpriced cappucino.
Breakfast was a satisfactory standard buffet.
To end on a positive note this hotel is very well located and reasonably priced.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. Great experience.
Very polite & courteous staff & very helpful. Centrally located.....15mins from the airport ,walking distance to all the shops & restaurants & also walking distance to the ferry terminal from where all the Great Barrier Reef cruises depart.

The hotel has been renovated & looks absolutely fab !
The rooms are clean & spacious with good views.
The hotel also sports a beautiful large pool. If you don't feel like getting out you could just laze by the pool or even in the rooms & not feel bored.
The breakfast restaurant has got a refreshing feel & is well set & the food is exquisite !

The hotel really made us feel welcome & that made our holiday even more relaxing!

Stayed at oasis for three nights in May two at the start and one at the end of my trip with my wife and daughter. Got a cheap rate on the accor website and was not expecting to be placed in the best room. Also, there was no mention that the place was being renovated on the website.
.
I have previously stayed at the Oasis and novotel has done a great renovation. The lobby is beautiful and so is the bar and restaurant. However, there were alot of workmen on a first two days but this didn't affect us too much as we didn't want to eat at the restaurant.
.
Upon arrival there was no concierge/bell boys around, had to get luggage out of taxi etc. After a short while bell boy attended and helped us with our luggage. Check in was smooth. Our rooms were in the coral rooms which appear to in the worst location. Still some construction materials were laying about and the paving/stencilcrete around the building was dirty and old. The lift was not renovated yet and had the old design still on it.
.
The room was excellent and modern, good beds. The view not so good but i expected that. The bathroom's however are not renovated and i think need to be. Mouldy and dirty cracked tiles. That night we were kept up at 3am by staff talking in the corridors.
.
I filled out a guest comment card. About a 5 days later i got a call from the GM or similiar who thanked me for the comments and upgraded us on our last stay. This was excellent customer service.
.
On our last night again no concierge around. Had to get all our gear out of the car and wait. I was waiting to check in and my wife was waiting with the bags. Reception has no people skills. They could clearly see i was in line and allowed 2 different people push in line and attended to them first. My pregnant wife now sick of waiting went and got a luggage trolley. This sprung the manager into action who came running out to assist my wife in putting the bags on the trolley. I had to trolley the bags up to the room.
.
After a while i was finally checked in and got an excellent room. Top floor with a great view, of beach, pool and city.. All this area was renovated, new lift and carpets leading to the room. Suprisingly this bathroom was not renovated but they are still acceptable but do not fit in with the renovation.
.
The pool is great especially for kids with a little beach section.
The linen in the room is great. I would definately stay again you can see the management is trying to raise the bar. The only problem they face is slack staff who have got no idea about customer service.
.
I will stay again definately and recommend to anyone.
