Description: Zafron has a simple and unpretentious ambience to provide a comfortable social space that features quality and taste. It's raison d'etre is how the cuisine tastes and presents. Only quality ingredients are used and no shortcuts are taken. Everything is hand-prepared fresh by Chef. Zafron has a reputation as a quality venue for large group bookings. Chef's Signature dish for Zafron is her Caspian Chicken. In this East-meets-West dish, Persian ingredients such as pomegranate molasses, pine nuts and Persian saffron contribute to a unique taste with a French-style design. The chicken tenderloins are marinated in Persian pomegranate molasses then pan seared, rolled in crushed roasted pine nuts, breadcrumbs and aromatic spices and baked. The tenderloins are then placed on wilted spinach and caramelised carrots, then dressed with a beautiful saffron white wine sauce and drizzled pomegranate molasses. Only one place on the planet has this dish and it is our most ordered item on the menu! Chef's Tapas Shared Plates are unrivaled for taste and value. Each platter comes with 4 tapas for two persons with a lovely salad garnish. Each tapas and sauce is hand-made.

Zafron's Persian fare is an absolute taste sensation. Every dish is full of flavour and eating there is one of the best food experiences in Brisbane. The meals are maybe a little on the small side but this is made up by the quality of the food which is flavoured with such things as pomegranate molasses and seeds, pinenuts, pistachios, dried limes and saffron.

my partner and I have been here several times now and there's no doubt we'll be coming back again in the near future. there simply isn't any cuisine like this in brisbane. if you're wanting a few tapas before a night out or traditional no frills persian cuisine or simply want huge bland portions ("can I have fries and a coke with that?") this probably isn't the place for you. however if you're a fan of tasty, quality handmade mid-east and mediterranean food or simply wanting to try something new and original, zafron is well worth the visit.

On the advice of friends, we had dinner for 4 at Zafron. What a gem, the service was great, and the food fantastic. Very busy, but not obvious, our service was just right, leaving enough time between courses. Would highly recommend!

I had dinner at Zafron on Brunswick on a Friday night. As a vegetarian I was concerned that about meat free choices, but there were more than enough options to choose from. The food was just amazing and the service was friendly, casual and efficient. I'll certainly come back to try other dishes.

We went to Zaffron with a friend with Persian roots. She liked it. We loved it. The decor sets the atmosphere and the owner is there to welcome you. The menu is varied with meat and vegetarian options. Our group sampled 4 different meals. All were flavourful, nicely presented and good value for money. The desserts were lovely too. If we get back to Brisbane Zaffron will be top of our list for places to eat out.
