Coming off the Oodnadata track, we were looking forward to our stay in Kings Canyon. We had sites booked in the Kings Creek Station general camp area. The layout of the sites was nicely done and well spaced. The toilet and shower facilities however were awful and for $45 per night - not worth the money. The nearest WC block (womens) had 3 wc and 3 showers. One of the wc was in pieces and not functional. The showers had good hot water but they were missing tiles, clothing hooks and shelving. In the mens block, the showers had cracked and loose tiles that squirted up water (and heavens knows what else) when stood on. Our appreciation of William, who showed us yo the campsite is to be commended for his friendliness and knowledge of which sites were powered or not (he seemed to know more than the reception staff who charged us for powered sites that were in fact not powered. A refund was quickly issued without question.
This is a great asset in a beautiful location and it would be a pity not to remedy these things.

Thank you for the feedback. We have upgraded the toilet blocks and have passed on your praise to William. He sure is a top fella! Safe Travels, KCS

We were a bit stuck as Kings Canyon was fully booked, This was a pleasant surprise, we managed to snare an unpowered site (last one). The place was well maintained, BBQ was spotless, toilets clean and functional. What was a real bonus was the camp fire. Nice spacious site the kids could camp and we all had a pleasant experience.

Having never glamped, I was worried about staying here, but I have to say it was excellent. The tents are small, but you are camping! The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The toilet and shower block was close, well lit and clean enough. There was hot water in the morning and evening. There was a heater, which was used to warm up the tent nicely. The camp kitchen was excellent, with plastic cups and plates provided. We knew we would be in late so had purchsed sausages and mince to have on the bbq. It was easy to start and clean - everything there. The included breakfast in the morning was great - you could have cereal, toast, bacon, eggs, whatever you felt like. You have to purchase WiFi, but I didn't bother. A few other people mentioned price was high for accom, but I was happy and would stay again! Hot Tip - leave all food in camp kitchen or car.

Thanks so much for your great review! We have just had Optus mobile coverage become available, so this is another option for WiFi now! Safe Travels, KCS

We booked 2 tents (a family of 4 won't fit in one) as we wanted to show our kids how it was to sleep under a tent. We knew it would get cold and this was the case. Tents were equipped with small heaters and for people used to camping this was ok. The tents were clean. My issue was one of size: if over 1m90 then beds are not comfi with feet touching the cold metal frame. There is a basic semi-closed toilet and lavatory next to the tents (so you have to put on cloth/shoes to go there), showers are shared with others. That's really spartiate for the price paid! Toilet door makes quite some noise when closing automatically, as noted by previous visitors this is an annoyance. I also found the electricity generator of the station really loud (my wife on the contrary did not care). The fireplace / BBQ area was great fun. Breakfast was ok. Note there are dingos wandering around in the station as the area is not closed: keep an eye on smaller kids. My personal take: for this price just buy a real tent and go to the camping, as I would have expected more "luxury" like provided by campings in Southern Europe.
