“The best food in Darling Harbour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2010

We rediscovered this restaurant couple of months ago (3 years ago when we have been there we didn't like it that much), it is so good, really delicious food, perfect service, nice decor/design. On top of all these lunch specials are really good value. Go there for a weekend lunch you won't be sorry...

“Saturday Afternoon nibbles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2010

While I have been to Sumac for a meal on previous visits to Sydney and have always found the dining to be good. However last Saturday we arrived emasse with kids and just wanted a coffee and desserts mid afternoon. No problem. Great service, attentive and chatty very relaxing. So we shared desserts and have a variety of coffees and teas. As most people have said before the view is very nice, prices average for Sydney. all round very pleasant

“Great value given the location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2010

We go to Sydney two or three times a year with our son and we always have at least one lunch here. We always have the $9.95 steak and chips special, and you can't fault it - I've had way worse steak for way more money. Tried the pepper sauce once (you pay extra) and it was horrid, so we went back to the naked steak. Service isn't exactly slick because they seem to have a lot of inexperienced casuals on, but it really doesn't matter because you can barely buy a sandwich for that money, let alone a sit-down meal

“beautiful harbourside views, great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 February 2010

We had a lovely dinner with a friend on a Saturday night. We only pre-booked that day, but it didn't seem too busy. We were welcomed in promptly and got seated in a perfect little table overlooking darling harbour. The waiters/waitresses were all really attentive and friendly. The food was scrumptious but it really depends on what you order from the extensive menu i.e. shish kebabs, mezze plate and sumac duck salad with pomegranates were all delicious, but the salmon wrapped in filo was pretty ordinary. I think you would be safe to order the more traditional sounding dishes.

I have to make a comment on the amazing desserts - the jaffa mousse was to die for and the quince waffle with vanilla bean ice cream was delicious. We all left feeling replete and happy. Would definitely go back
